The Mainland government's full support of the film BEGINNING OF THE GREAT REVIVAL caught the Wall Street Journal's attention. Yesterday an article while reporting the BEGINNING OF THE GREAT REVIVAL box office also compared it with another film WU XIA. With almost 200 actors from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, BEGINNING OF THE GREAT REVIVAL opened on June 15 in the Mainland. As of July 10 it accumulated 34.8 billion yuan RMB after 26 days. As for the Peter Chan Ho Sun directed, Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing MO) and Tang Wei starred WU XIA after opening on July 4 in the Mainland broke 100 million yuan RMB at the box office in its first week (as of July 10) to become the box office champion last week. BEGINNING OF THE GREAT REVIVAL last week made 31.3 million in second place and lagged slightly.

Wall Street Journal earlier this month reported rumors that the Mainland film company asked its state-owned enterprises employees to support BEGINNING OF THE GREAT REVIVAL and prop up the box office.
