Athena Chu Yan gave birth to daughter Wong Ngan last October. She shared her "beautiful pregnancy" with a Book Fair release.
Still considered a new mother, Chu Yan treated her 9 month old Wong Ngan as a treasure of her heart. She wrote an essay collection titled 6 POUND 10 OUNCES that dissects her state of mind before and after the pregnancy, including the unforgettable birth process and the source of the name Wong Ngan. She also revealed fun details about her family of three and even played photographers with her husband to capture their daughter's cute side. Publishing her first essay collection, Chu Yan explained, "This was a love letter for my daughter. The trivial matters in the eyes of others were deeply meaningful to a first time mother like me." Chu Yan hoped to share her joy and happiness, and will meet with readers at the Saturday Book Fair press conference.
