This year the 33rd Hong Kong Film Award Best Film Nominees are strong. Aside from catching the jury's eyes, their box office performance and film teams are top notch. They have already generated a lot of talk during the nomination stage. Topping the nomination list is the years in the making, leading with 14 Hong Kong Film Award nominations THE GRANDMASTER (YUT DOI JUNG SI) received Oscar nominations. Zhang Ziyi even with the film "won eight and looking at nine" Best Actress awards. The film THE WHITE STORM (SO DUK) with three Best Actor nominee favorites Louis Koo Tin Lok, Sean Lau Ching Wan and Nick Cheung Ka Fai and the affection of friendship left viewers with deep impression and nothing but praise.

Last year's box office champion UNBEATABLE received 11 Hong Kong Film Award nominations. Two hunks Cheung Ka Fai and Eddie Peng Yu-Yen's muscular performance even became the talk of the town.
