Carina Lau Ka Ling and Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) last week visited the Gansu mountain region for four days with A PRECIOUS DROP OF LIFE and experienced the local villagers' poverty stricken lives. Ka Ling walked the dangerous mountain roads with villagers while Siu Chai carried water for the villagers.

"Siu Chai and I walked the mountain roads, Siu Chai even helped and carried water. Actually we lived two hours by car away from the village, the village lacks a lot of basic material." Ka Ling also said that with the limited resources locally and that they could not help with much, villagers often had to leave it up to the Heavens. Often a rain storm or snow would be a blessing. Ka Ling said, "Although the villagers faced very difficult living environment, they were never sad. Instead the listeners were sadder, so I have to strong too. Once I couldn't buy a bag I was unhappy, now looking back I feel very dumb, very silly." Ka Ling also said that a dog in the village gave birth to five puppies. Due to the lack of food, the dogs fought each other.

Nominated for Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress, Ka Ling said that now she acts only due to interest. She also said that her 2006 birthday present was the most valuable. She said, "At the time Lam Ching Ha (Brigitte Lin) made a Golden Horse Best Actress award replica with real
gold and Wai Jai presented it to me. I still have the 'award' now, it is the most valuable present I have ever received."
