The 35th Annual Hong Kong International Film Festival yesterday held its opening ceremony at the Convention Center. Guests included the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society chief Wong Ying Wai and Film Festival ambassador Miriam Yeung Chin Wa. This year has two
opening films, Johnnie To Kei Fung and Wai Ka Fai's DON'T GO BREAKING MY HEART (DAN SUN NAM NUI) and QUATTRO HONG KONG II. The stars of the films Louis Koo Tin Lok, Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho), Gao Yuanyuan, JJ Jia (Ga Hiu Sun), Larisa Angela (Shui Sa), Wai Ying Hung, Michelle Wai (Si Nga), and Lam Ka Tung walked the red carpet. Wong Ying Wai said that Japanese film is an important part of Asian film. With the recent earthquake and tsunami that Japan suffered, the event sent its deepest consolation and well wishes and wished for luck for the Japanese people.

Chin Wa said that she was very honored to be the film festival ambassador and that enjoying different films during the film festival was a great chance to add value, widen her own range and help her future performance. This time she would like to see the most COME RAIN COME SHINE and E-LOVE. Playing more comedy in the past, in recent years Chin Wa made more romantic films. She was happy to be able to try different genres. In June she will work on LOVE IN A PUFF (JI MING YU CHUN GIU) sequel. She honestly said that she would like to finish it faster because she needed to keep trying for a child. She said, "Actually I have already been trying very hard, but it depends on fate in particular now. Although negative energy existed before as well, I cherish everything and think that family was very important. I also have to eat more and stop losing weight."

Goo Jai last night appeared with facial hair, which was his look for his new film ROMANCING IN THIN AIR (GO HOI BUT JI LUEN). In the story after a heart break he went into the mountains to become a wild man. As for his expectation for DON'T, Goo Jai said that the Mainland film screening responses were great and received praised online. Thus he hoped the Hong Kong audience would like it too.

The provocatively dressed Yuanyaun honestly said that she was used to the cold. As for choosing between Goo Jai and Ng Yin Cho for a boyfriend, she honestly said that she would choose Ng Yin Cho because Goo Jai in the film was very unfaithful. She thought that love was one on one, not one on two or three. If in real life both pursued her, she said that it was not something to be happy about because one was enough. Two was not too good. Did the single Goo Jai meet her mate criteria? She said that in the film Goo Jai was very cute. In reality he was also very friendly and kind, but she did not understand him too much. If she chose him as a boyfriend from that she would feel bad.
