THE FOUNDING OF A PARTY will open in Hong Kong in mid June. The May 4th Movement was the climax of the film. The directors used over 1,000 actors to recreate the massive scene.

Directors Han Sanping and Huang Jianxin chose to work with CITY OF LIFE AND DEATH director Lu Chuan to complete the scene. For the scene to be even grander, three directors arranged for over 1,000 actors to participate. One of the scenes required a soldier who was guarding the gate to push students. Although only the hand appeared on camera, Lu Chuan still arranged for the worker to change into costume and even applied make up on his hand. They even spent half a day to "explain" how to perform this hand. The production was not sloppy at all.

In this scene, Feng Yuanzheng, Zhang Jiayi, Li Chen and others contributed their "craziest" in their film career. The highly difficult and fast dialogues left Feng Yuanzheng "off key" due to emotional upheaval; Li Chen often "lost his voice" from all the chanting. The actors in order to be perfect screamed at the top of their lungs and gave even their voices.
