[2012.04.05] ANDY LAU POSTPONES PATERNITY LEAVE FOR THE HONG KONG FILM AWARD

The 31st Hong Kong Film Award will take place on April 15.  This year's Hong Kong Film Award program was unveiled earlier as the Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor and Actress and Best New Performer nominees appeared.  Currently on paternity leave, Andy Lau Tak Wa was rumored to have changed his mind and attend the award show.  He also took time for the program photo shoot.  Best Actor nominees who participated in the shoot were only Wa Jai and Lau Ching Wan.

This year's Hong Kong Film Award theme "Film New Power" brings out the Hong Kong film "heritage" and "perseverance" spirit.  Continuing past traditions, the event earlier arranged for nominees to pose for the program shoot.  Two time Best Actor and again nominated with A SIMPLE LIFE (TOH JEH), Lau Tak Wa displayed all of his Best Actor flare.  However this year's Best Actor nominees who participated in the program shoot were only Wa Jai and Ching Wan.

Instead five Best Actress nominees Deanie Ip Tak Han, Zhou Xun, Gao Yuanyuan, Tang Wei and Shu Qi appeared.  Others who participated in the shoot included Best Director nominees Ann Hui On Wa, Tsui Hark, Alan Mak Siu Fai and Felix Chong Man Keung, Best Supporting Actor nominees Jimmy Wang Yu, Paul Chun Pui, Lo Hoi Peng and Kenneth Tsang Kong, Best Supporting Actress nominees Wai Ying Hung, Qin Hailu and Kwai Lun-Mei as well as Best New Performer nominees Jam Hsiao (Siu King Tung), Shiga Lin Si Nga, Zheng Shuang, Karena Ng Chin Yu and Sheng Jian.

Yesterday Ng Chin Yu and Icon Girls appeared at a shopping center and performed a little ballet dance.  Ng Chin Yu said that for this performance she took three ballet lessons, but yesterday she danced like "happy dance".  She awkwardly said, "I hope everyone was happy to see it."  Speaking of the Hong Kong Film Award Best New Performer nomination, she hoped to win and has seen the other competition.  She praised Zheng Shuang and Shiga Lin and said that she would not be disappointed if she would not win.  She would properly enjoy her first large scale award show's environment.  As for the chance to work on IP MAN 3, she looked forward to working with Yen Chi Tan very much.  Although she had pressure she would turn it into motivation.

In addition, Cha Siu Yan on her radio program brought out the dispute between Donnie Yen Chi Tan and Wu Jing during SPL (SAT POR LONG).  Some said that Yen Chi Tan invited Sammo Hung Kam Bo to participate, which led to no line for Wu Jing, and that he did not hold back when he hit Wu Jing.  Cha Siu Yan also revealed that Louis Fan Siu Wong while working on IP MAN 2 had his role reduced.  Yen Chi Tan had no comment.
