Peter Chan Ho Sun in his new autobiography MY WAY critiqued the acting of Andy Lau Tak Wa, Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Jacky Cheung Hok Yau.  He described Wa Jai's acting as "McDonald's hamburger" for general public consumption, everyone can accept it but it is no gourmet.  Wa Jai spent 20 years to convincing people who did not believe in or like him to become the show business model of success.

Chan Ho Sun described Wai Jai to resemble Robert DeNiro.  After finding a successful acting method, he kept repeating his successful acting method.  Tsang Chi Wai's acting was good but could very easily be over (excessive); Cheung Hok Yau's personality was easy going, but at work he was the most stubborn.  Speaking of Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing, Chan Ho Sun lamented, "He was the most qualified to become an outstanding director."
