[2014.11.01] KUNG FU JUNGLE OPENS ON TOP

The film KUNG FU JUNGLE (YUT GOR YUN DIK MO LUM) two days ago officially opened in Hong Kong and made HK$870,035. Yesterday eight new films opened, aside from KUNG FU JUNGLE was "Harry Potter" Daniel Radcliffe's HORNS, the Moses Chan Ho starred DOT 2 DOT (DIM DUI DIM) and the Ronald Cheng Chung Kei starred THE SEVENTH LIE (DAI CHUT FONG YIN). In the end KUNG FU JUNGLE crushed the strong competition and to open on top. Its admission rate reached 15,440 viewers.

The actors attended the premiere in Beijing and applauded the good box office news. Charlie Yeung Choi Nei said, "I am very happy, I am confident that people who like wuxia and action films would have fun watching it!" Wang Baoqiang who has many fierce fight scenes in the film said that the film only opened in the Mainland yesterday and he hoped that the good Hong Kong performance would appear in the Mainland too. He said, "Although I was so busy that I wasn't able to meet everyone in Hong Kong, the news from Hong Kong is truly great! I also wish for success at both the Hong Kong and the Mainland box office!"

Donnie Yen Chi Tan said, "The most important is the audience likes it!" At the Beijing premiere he said that Wang Baoqiang was an action actor with a lot of potential. In the future he definitely will stake his own claim on kung fu films. He hoped to be able through this collaboration with Wang Baoqiang to put him on smooth sailing in kung fu films and spread "Chinese kung fu". Director Teddy Chan Tak Sum gave a special thanks to Yen Chi Tan. Finding a new path for Hong Kong kung fu film was not easy, he hoped through kung fu films to teach Chinese martial arts to foreigners and bring the best production technique back to China.
