The Chow Yun Fat and Huang Xiaoming starred film THE LAST TYCOON (DAI SEUNG HOI) and the Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho), Chang Chen and Liu Ye starred THE LAST SUPPER (WONG DIK SING YIN) two days ago were released on the same day in Hong Kong. Fat Gor in the end is still Fat Gor and has certain charm. Two days ago the single day box office was HK$430,000, along with the earlier advanced screenings the film opened with 620,000; however, THE LAST SUPPER opened with just 38,000. Both films have been released in the Mainland and only gave average performances. Their cumulative box offices were both 73 million RMB, but SUPPER was released earlier than TYCOON.
On the other hand Jackie Chan's CZ12 (SUP YI SUN CHIU) already reached 480 million RMB at the Mainland box office. During its Hong Kong release it faced strong foreign films THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART 2, WRECK-IT RALPH, LES MISERABLES and THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY. On the 15th its cumulative box office was HK$9.89 million, a decent performance already.
