Artist Joe Cheng Cho (originally named Cheng Kam Wing) last week passed away due to heart disease at the age of 51. Cheng Cho's memorial yesterday took place in the Grand Peace Funeral Parlor in Hung Hom. The ceremony was Christian, the altar was simply decorated and photos from Cheng Cho's life were displayed.
Yesterday many industry insiders including Teresa Mo Shun Kwan, Michael Tse Tin Wa, Vincent Kuk Tak Siu, Ronald Cheng Chung Kei, Sam Lee Chan Sam, Chan Kwok Kwan, Rachel Kan Mo Wa, Christine Chau Ka Yin and Chik Kei Yi attended. Stephen Chow Sing Yi and Ng Man Tat did not appear in person but they sent floral arrangements. Chow Sing Chi even sent one from the company and another from himself.
Tse Tin Wa said that Cheng Cho was his dance division elder but they have never worked together on any movie or television series. His smile was the most memorable. Tin Wa said, "He was very optimistic, he would make friends around him happy and his smile was hard to forget. The last time I ran into him was around two years ago at a Mainland event. Earlier when I received the bad news, it was very sudden since he was so young. I wish a peaceful journey."
