The Benny Chan Muk Sing directed, Lau Ching Wan, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Mainland actress Yolanda Yuan Quan starred film THE CARTEL WAR (SO DUK) yesterday held a production start ceremony at the CIC Zero Carbon Building. Ching Wan, Goo Jai and Ka Fai earlier shot a struggle scene, Goo Jai was too heavy handed when he pushed Ching Wan. Ching Wan lost his balance, hit his head on the ground and the back of his head was red and swollen; Ka Fai and Goo Jai got nervous as Ka Fai immediately grabbed a chair for Ching Wan while Goo Jai asked the crew for ice. Ching Wan on the other hand did not think it was a big deal and even was bothered when they kept asking him whether he was fine. Goo Jai said, "I asked him did he know who he was? He said Cheung Ka Fai, which proved that he was fine." Goo Jai also hit his head on a wall during an indoor explosion scene, luckily he was fine.
Reportedly Esther Kwan Wing Ho hired 7 tutors with master degrees for their daughter. Ka Fai said that he did not know but he has seen tutors at his home. "Now the tutors are great, I asked my wife when they would tutor me. (What do you want help on?) Brain, liver, kidneys, German, I rarely go home, I have no idea." Goo Jai could not help but make fun of Ka Fai, "You can tutor liver and kidneys? Have you been tutoring liver outside?"
The film will shoot in Hong Kong and Thailand, Chan Muk Sing revealed that after the Lunar New Year the production will head to Thailand for a car chase, explosive and a helicopter chase. Because Thailand was already used to the Hollywood style production, salary was not cheap either. With a heavier auto import tax than Hong Kong, he would need over 20 cars for the shoot and he has lost control of his budget.
