[2013.07.04] IRON MAN 3 LEADS IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR

The first half of 2013 (January 1 to June 30) Hong Kong film market overall continued to rise as the total box office reached HK$764,968,372. In comparison to last year's HK$754,155,977 it was a 1.43% rise. Overall first run film quantity was 153, 19 were Hong Kong films and 134 were non Hong Kong films.

According to the Hong Kong Box Office Co. Ltd., the highest grossing Hong Kong film in the first half of the year was JOURNEY TO THE WEST: CONQUERING THE DEMONS (SAI YAU GONG MOR PIN) with HK$28,401,227 cumulative box office. In second place was THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) with HK$21,292,885 and in third was HOTEL DELUXE (BAK SING JAU DIM) with HK$19,443,275. In tenth place was YOUNG AND DANGEROUS: RELOADED (GOO WAT JAI: GONG WU SUN DIT JUI) with HK$3,966,851.

The top three highest grossing non Hong Kong films were IRON MAN 3 with HK$106,389,801, in second was WORLD WAR Z with HK$30,655,926 for now and in third was A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD with HK$28,679,709.
