To celebrate DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK)'s Venice Film Festival success, Huayi Brothers after the premiere held a DREAM BACK TO TANG DYNASTY event at the Excelsior hotel. Not only was the hotel decorated like a Tang Dynasty palace, the stage was Wu Zetian's throne with Wu Zetian's royal robe and crown shipped there to be displayed. The event also displayed three action figures from the film.

Huayi chief Wang Zhonglei, director Tsui Hark, stars Andy Lau Tak Wa, Li Bingbing, Carina Lau Ka Ling attended. Many buyers, film festival organizers, international media also attended. Wa Jai felt that the debuting action figure resembled him 100%, which made him very excited. He even made mischievous poses with the action figure. Collector Tsui Hark also lingered in front of the Detective Dee action figure.

Bingbing also demonstrated her English quality and gave a speech in fluent English. She even offered to kiss Tsui Hark and Wang Zhonglei, which led to thunderous applause when she did. Ka Ling complained that without any fight scene this time was no fun enough. She said, "I wore
armor and rode horses, so I had a little fun. If there will be a sequel, I hope to have fight scenes for me." She said that because of the several dozen kilogram head dress she had to withstand its weight and injured her neck. The media asked her which animal did Wu Zetian resemble? She
joked, "Like a golden lion."
