Chapman To Man Jat sold his personal experience of bestiality and teamed up with director Pang Ho Cheung to make the film VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET). Due to the massive amount of foul language and sexual subject, the film received a category III rating and limited the audience group; however, aside from the great word of mouth from screenings, the film also opened high as it defeated THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, Tony Leung Chiu Wai's THE SILENT WAR (TING FUNG JEH), and the 3D animation MADAGASCAR 3: EUROPE'S MOST WANTED to become the single day box office champion.

To Man Jat was full of confidence in VULGARIA, thus before its official release it already had 58 screenings to test the word of mouth and successfully pumped up the August 9 opening to HK$1,105,265; with the screening box office on the opening day the film already accumulated 1.9 million and landed on top of the single day box office chart. It defeated MADAGASCAR 3's single day box office of HK$951,583, THE BOURNE LEGACY's HK$718,754 and BRAVE's HK$617,506. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES made 593,389 and was fifth on the single day box office chart. Best Actress Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Zhou Xun starred THE SILENT WAR's single day take was only 235,209, less than STEP UP REVOLUTION's 259,204.

To Man Jat yesterday flaunted the 1.9 million box office online. He said, "The film today becomes the Hong Kong opening box office champion. I am very gratified." He said that he would have to treat Ronald Cheng Chung Kei to dinner and drag him to the cinema for audience appreciation.
