Andy Lau Tak Wa's father Lau Lai passed away on November
23rd at age 97. Yesterday services began at the Hong Kong Funeral
Home. The ceremony was Buddhist and the funeral would take place
on the 6th at noon, with the remains being transported to the Cape
Collinson Crematorium for the cremation ceremony. Wa Jai bid farewell
to his late father with his wife and daughter. Many friends in the
industry also arrived to pay their respect. Wa Jai's fan club Andy
World Club had almost 400 members who were arranged to enter the hall
in a orderly fashion.

around noon he has already arrived at the funeral parlor for his
father's funeral. Wa Jai's vehicle drove straight into the parking
lot. When he got out and went to take the elevator to enter the hall,
Wa Jai was in black and alone. The media waited outside in hopes of
a glimpse of his wife Chu Lai Sin and daughter Hanna Lau Heung Wai.
Around 2:15 pm, his wife Chu Lai Sin ad 11 year old daughter
Lau Heung Wai with several friends and family members arrived. Wa Jai
immediately picked up his wife and child, holding his wife's hand with
his right hand and his daughter's with his left. The family of three
were all dressed in black with white masks as they entered the hall
with sorrow. Hanna was already as tall as Papa's shoulder, stepping
into the hall to pay respect to Grandpa.
Father Lau's funeral office was on the first floor Great Hall.
In front of the elevator was a sign. While waiting for the elevator,
Wa Jai took more than great care of his wife and daughter, who have
always maintained a low profile. He deliberately provided cover for
them and tried to avoid their faces being in photos. Right before
entering the elevator, Wa Jai put his hands together in a show of
appreciation to the press. After half a hour, Mama Lau arrived around
2:50 PM and did not leave until around 7:15 PM.
Wa Jai had great connections in the business. At his father
Lau Lai's funeral, many paid their respect. They included Dr. Albert
