LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE (DUET MING GUM) was selected for this year's Venice Film Festival competition.  After the screening, the audience gave uniformly good reviews, which made director Johnnie To Kei Fung and the leads instantly award favorites.  Yesterday the director To Sir in a blue suit led two first time film festival attendees, actresses Denise Ho Wan Si and Myolie Wu Hung Yi to the press conference.  Ho Wan Si went with a handsome Burberry look, Hung Yi wore a red low cut dress, while Lau Ching Wan appeared in a white suit.

After the screening, the audience response was overwhelmingly enthusiastic.  The entire audience gave several standing ovations.  The largest European film critic group gave passionate praises to LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE.  Speaking of LIFE's increased award chances, To Sir humbly said, "I am already very happy to have a chance to participate in such a grand film festival again.  Of course with an award we would be even happier, but I would only face it at peace."

Actors were asked how they grasped their characters.  To Sir first spoke for them and said, "Actually my method is very unfair to actors because I am used to writing the script as we shoot."  Ching Wan jokingly responded, "The director liked to explain on the set very much, during which he would perform once.  I think he should make a movie for himself to star in."  To Sir cracked up.  During the event the event translator misread Ho Wan Si's name as "Ho Si Wan" several times, which made Ah Si laugh.  Finally the director had to speak up to make the correction.
