The 60 million RMB Jeff Lau Chun Wai directed holiday comedy EAST MEETS WEST 2011 (DONG SING SAI JAU 2011) yesterday held a production start ceremony in Huizhou. The director led the cast including Eason Chan Yik Shun, Karen Mok Man Wai, Dior Cheng Yi Kin, Alex Fong Lik Sun, Stephy Tang Lai Yun, William So Wing Hong, Kenny Bee (Chung Chun To) and Mainland actress Sitar Tan (Tam Wai Wai) in attendance. However everyone's lips were locked when asked about the film story and characters. Director Lau Chun Wai revealed that this was a folk fairy movie.

The cast yesterday entered on a red carpet with masks in hand. Back then Lau Chun Wai's EAGLE SHOOTING HEROES (DONG SING SAI JAU) was very popular. Returning to the title after so many years, the previous version's Carina Lau Ka Ling and Veronica Yip Yuk Hing sent congratulatory videos. Wong Kar Wai, Sammo Hung Kam Bo and others also sent supportive videos.

The film will have over 60 actors, some of the actors spoke about the production yesterday. Then they cut a "East Orange West Grapefruit" cake, with the orange and grapefruit standing for "achievement". The event yesterday announced Eason's character as an "English gentleman". Eason said that the director also dressed very English yesterday. Since he studied there before, the director this time discovered the other side of his acting specialty. As for the character detail, Eason was unwilling to reveal too much. He only said that his character and So Wing Hong's character were the exact opposite of their real lives. He normally dressed like a mini bus driver but this time in the film he played a gentleman. The costume fitting alone took 8 hours as he had six costumes. Fong Lik Sun revealed that he and Tang Lai Yun would have a "flesh" exchange. Eason joked, "I don't know, would you believe what Siu Fong says?" However, he looked forward to working with Stephy and stressed that it would not be a sexual or physical exchange, but a visualization of their inner exchange. He and Mok Man Wai would also have physical contact. Earlier when they worked together on ENTER THE PHOENIX (DAI LO OI MEI LAI), they did not have enough scenes together. This time they finally had the chance to work together again. Yesterday Mok Man wai dressed provocatively, she said that in the film she would have sexy performance with four or five different looks.

Fong Lik Sun and Tang Lai Yun again worked as a couple but this time they would not have many scenes together. Stephy said that she and Eason had the most scenes, as they had an intricate but complicated relationship. Siu Fong revealed that she and Eason would have "flesh" exchange. Would Siu Fong mind? He joked, "It's just an exchange, it's nothing. Everyone is just studying acting." Speaking of working with Eason, Siu Fong said that he did not die from laughing at him but from drowning from his spit. Eason truly lived up to his title of "BS God". Yesterday Siu Fong said that he would like to be Director Lau Chun Wai's assistant director. He honestly said that he worked with Director Lau five times in four years and each time he benefited a lot. He would like to become an assistant director. Thus he always called him as "Director Lau" and never "Uncle".

In addition, Cheng Yi Kin revealed that in the film he had a wife. However for now he did not know who would play her. Would he recommend his girlfriend Yoyo Mung Ka Wai? He said that the director did his ideas. He would just hand himself to the director. Would he mind playing "double sausage" like Tony Leung Chiu Wai did? He would not mind as he trusted the director very much.

Ah B yesterday attended the press conference, this time Ah B would not only perform but also serve as a consultant.

Did he get two paychecks? He said that he did not care because he and director Lau Chun Wai were good friends. Since FIST OF FURY 1991 (SUN JING MO MOON 1991) he has always wanted to work with him again. He truly was very happy about this opportunity.

Did he help look for investors? He said, "I would if I could." Was he interested in working behind the scene? Ah B said that after so many years in this business, with so much experience if he did not it would be very wasteful. He would not mind directing in the future.
