OVERHEARD 3 (SIT TING FUNG WON 3) was about a land struggle. Aside from the original team of Sean Lau Ching Wan, Louis Koo Tin Lok and Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho), Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress Zhou Xun joined them. In order to bring the audience the most surprising and the most exciting performance, the film also asked Alex Fong Chung Shun, Ng Man Tat, Gordon Lam Ka Tung and Dominic Lam Ka Wa for support.

Director Felix Chong Man Keung said that after the script was completed, he knew that the film would be very demanding on the actors' acting. Not only the leads but also the villagers had to excel in acting and specialize in stirring up emotions. Thus many film industry veterans including Fong Chung Shun, Lam Ka Tung, Lam Ka Wai would play the walled village's Lok Brothers and appear in land baron costumes convincingly. Fong Chung Shun played Lok Wing Fu, who was direct and fiery tempered. Even when he put on the costume and hairstyle he would joke that the "rough person" possessed him. Aside from the hair, everyone would exchange glances and struggle for power. In a simple secret meeting scene, each of their eyes showed that each brother had his own agenda and the ability that everyone had.

As a land baron, wine, women and wealth of course could not be missed. In one scene they and their buddy Law Wing Chau drank together with a group of beauties around them. Their every move was full of the boldness of "nothing could come between brothers". Law Wing Chau even for brother Lok Kam Keung sacrificed his own happiness. Koo Tin Lok said, "The film is very realistic, my character is stuck between two difficult places and has to make a choice. Sometimes it is very painful."
