[2014.05.27] CHEUNG YIU WING CONCERT HAS A STRONG LINE UP

Father of concerts Cheung Yiu Wing passed away earlier. To remember this music industry veteran, the Performing Industry Association scheduled two shows of Father of concerts Hong Kong Coliseum Show on August 30 and 31 at the Hong Kong Coliseum. The event yesterday held a press conference to announce the details. The Performing Industry Association consisted of many entertainment companies, representatives included Chan Suk Fun, Hui Bing Sum, and Hung Dik all attended. As the Yiu Wing Entertainment representative, Uncle Yiu Wing's daughter Cheung Lai Fong also attended. The event arranged for a chair in the center for Uncle Yiu Wing and used his favorite game mahjong to unveil the performers. The event chose Uncle Yiu Wing's favorite cola in lieu of the usual champagne for the toast in accordance to Uncle Yiu Wing's taste. This concert's proceeds after expenses will be donated to Uncle Yiu's family. Yesterday the announced performers included Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Andy Lau Tak Wa, George Lam Chi Cheung, Hacken Lee Hak Kun, Alan Tam Wing Lun, Sally Yeh (Yip Sin Man), Kelly Chen Wai Lam, Jenny Tseng, Edmond Leung Hong Man, Adam Cheng Siu Chau, Joyce Cheng Yun Yi, Mayday and other singers and units of different eras.

East Asia Entertainment represent Hui Bing Sum pointed out that the concert segments were being conceived. The ticket prices will be between HK$200 to 680. As for any advice for Uncle Yiu Wing's widow, she admitted that Mrs. Cheung agreed to the Performing Industry Association memorial show and singers chose the songs that they wanted to sing to Uncle Yiu Wing. When asked if singers would not be paid, she admitted that this time was purely voluntary. They have not considered a DVD or Blu-Ray video release later. She said, "We hope to remember Mr. Cheung's concert spirit, thus we have to watch it live, experience it live. We won't release a DVD!" In addition, when asked if a seat would be saved for Uncle Yiu Wing. She praised that this was a good suggestion. They would study that further with the record companies.
