[2017.03.16] ASIAN FILM AWARD HONORS JELLY LIN

Mainland star Jelly Lin Yun will receive the 11th Asian Film Award's "Asia Rising Actor Award" for her outstanding achievement and extraordinary breakthrough in Asian film.

Lin Yun last year starred in the Stephen Chow Sing Chi directed MERMAID (MEI YUN YU) and became an overnight sensation. The film's performance was also something to be proud of. Lin Yun's brilliant performance in MERMAID earned her many awards and nominations, including the 11th Asian Film Award and the 36th Hong Kong Film Award Best New Actor nominations and the 12th Chinese American Film Festival Best New Comer Award, the 3th China Australia International Film Festival Best New Comer Award, the 15th New York Asian Film Festival Rising Star Award and the 18th Huading Award's Best New Actor.

This year, Lin Yun again worked with Chow Sing Chi in the Tsui Hark directed film that he produced, JOURNEY TO THE WEST: THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK. It was commercial and critical hit. She will even star in a movie about Genghis Khan, with the Best Foreign Film Oscar award winning French director Jean-Jacques Annaud as its producer, famous Mongolian director Hasi Chaolu, stars William Chan Wai Ting and Hu Jun. In addition, she will star in Disney's first Mainland film.
