Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Yuen Bun, Stephen Tung Wai and Yan Hua with KUNG FU JUNGLE (YUT GOR YUN DIK MO LUM) two nights ago won the Hong Kong Film Award Best Action Choreography. This was also Chi Tan's fourth award in the category, but because he was working on IP MAN 3 in Shanghai he was unable to attend in person.
Two nights ago he just finished work when he learned about the award. He said, "I really want to thank Director (Teddy) Chan Tak Sum, Yuen Bun, Tung Wai and Yan Hua, as well as Emperor, even more importantly the brothers at the Donnie Yen Stuntman Association. Only with their contribution would the action be so exciting." IP MAN 3 will not wrap for another two months. The fight scenes with Mike Tyson will take place in mid May. In order to stay in shape whenever he had free time he would train at the gym. He said that this time with Lord Eight (Yuen Woo Ping) as the action choreographer, he could focus on just acting. He had a lot more time and energy to spend on training. He admitted that he looked forward to working with Tyson very much. Since he represented Chinese kung fu against boxing, he had to be at his best. Chi Tan admitted that he only focused on playing the Ip Man role well. He hoped that through IP MAN 3 he would surpass himself and find a breakthrough.
