The 4th Annual Asian Film Award Best Director Lu Chuan directed Guangzhou volunteer promotional film began production today. Lu Chuan expressed that Guangzhou Asia games was a major sporting event in China after the Olympics. He hoped to be able to make a film that was separate from the Beijing Olympics and Shanghai World Expo to reflect Guangzhou volunteer spirits.

Winning the 4th Annual Asian Film Award Best Director with THE CITY OF LIFE AND DEATH, Lu Chuan after receiving the award went to Guangzhou the next day to participate in a planning of the Guangzhou volunteer's first theme promotional film. speaking of the idea of the film, Lu Chuan revealed that currently each major event promotional work has been severely homogeneous. He hoped that the Guangzhou Asian Game promotional film style would have more sense of real life, be closer to volunteers' real lives and be more touching instead of the general elegance from star films.

Lu Chuan felt, this film production should look for real and touching stories and representatives among Guangzhou's numerous volunteers. With these stories and representatives the film should reflect volunteers' real lives and spirits. The promotional film took place at the Asian Games but was not about the Asian Games. It even became the "post Asian Games" volunteer promotional film.

To make the film, Lu Chuan came to Guangzhou numerous times over several months and came in contact with many volunteers. He even went to participate in the volunteer service locations for the experience and finally selected four volunteers. Lu Chuan stressed that Guangzhou volunteers were particularly touching and hoped that even more people would care about volunteers and join their ranks. "Guangzhou volunteers were very excellent. I was very glad to make their promotional film for zero salary. I believe many directors would gladly do so as well." Lu Chuan expressed.

Lu Chuan not only directed the Guangzhou volunteer's first theme promotional film but also joined the Guangzhou Asian Game volunteer hall of fame as its first director.
