Andy Lau Tak Wa is currently at the Venice Film Festival. Because Wa Jai was born on September 27th, the film company held a surprise dinner for him to celebrate in advance; Wa Jai also celebrated his birthday for the second year in a row at the Venice Film Festival.
At the dinner, the crew suddenly sang the birthday song and Wa Jai was pleasantly surprised. The birthday cake was also his first this year. Wa Jai made three wishes in one breath. He said that the first and second birthday wishes were for Ann Hui On Wa and Sister Deanie (Ip Tak Han) to win Best Director and Best Actress respectively. He had 100% confidence in them. Wa Jai said that he never expected many foreigners to be able to related to that feeling of a Hong Kong topic film like A SIMPLE LIFE after the premiere. He saw an elderly foreign viewer broke down in tears. He himself was very touched. He thought the director and Sister Deanie were too great. Thus if his wish did not come true, everyone just missed out. As for the third wish, he joked, "I could save one for myself right?!"
Reporters immediately pestered Wa Jai, who thought a little and joked, "Then Best Picture for A SIMPLE LIFE!" Then he could not hold back his laughter either. Two days ago Wa Jai did many Chinese and foreign press interviews at once, after ten hours he was still in great spirit. His endurance even affected Ip Tak Han, who said that he truly had endless energy and boldness.
Although Sister Deanie was a little tired, she and Wa Jai completed over 20 media interviews. Wa Jai during the interview breaks used a sofa to stretch. After resting a few minutes he continued. Sister Deanie was very attentive as well, during Wa Jai's interview she kept swatting bugs away from him.
