The Benny Chan Muk Sing directed, Sammo Hung Kam Bo action directed, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Sean Lau Ching Wan, Eddie Peng Yu-Yan and Wu Jing starred film THE DEADLY RECLAIM (NGAI SING CHI BA) heated up in production lately in Shaoxing.
Lately Shaoxing has been under the assault of Typhoon Chan-hom. The storm ripped through the large canvas that was used to block out the rain. The team was already prepared for the storm. Not only did it take wind and rain precautions but also shot in two teams of drama and action. The two directors and the cast were more focused, as they hoped to complete the outdoor scenes before the pending storm.
The team was so rich in experience that they could joked around even with the storm on the way. The drama team's Ching Wan, Goo Jai and director Chan Muk Sing even "had a little fun" and played Chinese chess. During the period they looked serious and considered every move carefully.
As for the action team, Wu Jing and Peng Yu-Yan worked on a fight scene before the storm and fought even harder. The entire team's morale was also high.
Ching Wan said about the coming storm, "I don't have much experience with productions in a typhoon, but I believe that this storm will weaken once it makes landfall. So I am not too worried. However the pouring rain that would remain would be brutal enough!" Peng Yu-Yan said that last year when he worked on another film he ran into a typhoon. The entire team was trapped in one place and could not shoot for a day or two. Wu Jing said that he ran into a Number 8 Gale or Storm Signal while working in Hong Kong, so he had some experience with it.
