Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi's new film despite her troubled marriage rumors will be released as scheduled. The Frankie Chan Fun Kei directed LADY GENERALS OF THE YANG FAMILY (YEUNG MOON NUI JEUNG ji GWUN LING YU SAN) has been set for a major promotion at the Shanghai Film Festival for its September release. The director will appear with the cast and the crew for the press conference and the red carpet ceremony. The film company has invited Pak Chi, but due to her recent rumors Pak Chi did not want to steal the spotlight from the event and declined. Was Chan Fun Kei worried about affecting the promotion? He said, "It's nothing, as long as the film is good."
The Wong Jing directed new film TREASURE HUNT (MO GA JI BO) already gauged responses at the Cannes Film Festival. Although it has not planned to participate in this year's Shanghai Film Festival it has already been confirmed for an end of August release. Although Pak Chi's promotional participation will be unknown, Wong Jing was still fully confident in the film and was not worried about the box office at all.
