Maggie Cheung Man Yuk after HERO again appears in costume in an English artist's film that requires nine screens to display, the experimental film MAN CHUN LONG (TEN THOUSAND LAYER WAVE). In the film she plays the fisherman goddess Mazu. She first appears in the air of Lancashire County, England in a white goddess costume.

Then she floats over today's Shanghai, the 30's Shanghai, and China country village. Cheung Man Yuk in the film has no dialogue and even her performance is very monotonous. She only looks at the camera and makes goddess surveying the earth before and certain sympathetic and caring expressions. The camera just stays on Cheung Man Yuk's face in close up shots or her back when she floats.
