The 32nd Hong Kong Film Award will take place on April 13. The Best Supporting Actor competition is no less than the Best Actor battle! Ronald Cheng Chung Kei (VULGARIA) is brutally funny, Gordon Lam Ka Tung (COLD WAR) has courage and schemes, Chapman To Man Jat (DIVA) steals the spotlight with his dirty ways, Liu Kai Chi (THE BULLET VANISHES) is evil and arrogant, Alex Man Chi Leung (THE BOUNTY) is exaggerated and crazy. Among the 5 nominees, aside from Cheng Chung Kei the other 4 have toiled on television for a long time. Winning Best Supporting Actor with CAGEMAN and THE BEAST STALKER, Liu Kai Chi has better odds. With 34 years in the business, even the Encyclopedia of Virtual Communities in Hong Kong uses his photo to represent "substance" actor. Uncle Chi admitted that acting was a consideration of reality. "I still have to eat! However actors have one advantage: they will always face different new challenges." When Uncle Chi won his second Best Supporting Actor award, he said that he would put the award next to the photo of his late younger son Lok Lok. Years later, his beloved son remained in Uncle Chi's heart. "In life you always have to face rises and falls. Learning to act in the end is learning to live, because acting is bringing everyday life in front of the camera."

Lam Ka Tung 4 years ago received good reviews as the traitor in IP MAN but finally lost to Uncle Chi. This year with COLD WAR he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for the third time. He said that he was only 50% confident. "The award I definitely want to win, but my confidence is truly average. This movie shows everyone that still so many people want to put an effort into Hong Kong film, which is more important than money and award." Seemingly having worked with all the Best Actors, Lam Ka Tung joked that he was collecting stamps. As for the longing to play lead, he said, "For a moment I have thought about having to play the lead, but now I would work only if I feel it's suitable. Ultimately film has to meet financial benefits, if you can sell overseas naturally you are the lead."
