The film PARADOX (SAT POR LONG TAM LONG) yesterday held a Beijing press conference. Producer Paco Wong, director Wilson Yip Wai Shun, action director Sammo Hung Kam Bo and actors including Louis Koo Tin Lok, Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Tony Jaa, Wu Yue, Chris Collins and others attended. The top ten action scenes were shown for the audience to witness Koo Tin Lok, Tony Jaa, Wu Yue, Chris Collins as the strongest action team as they thoroughly displayed their hard core and realistically exciting stunts.
Koo Tin Lok at the press conference talked about working with director Yip Wai Shun. Goo Jai said, "I have worked with Yip Wai Shun for a very long time. We have a lot of memories, like when he witnessed my leg injury. However our collaboration has always been very pleasant. He is a director I admire and trust very much. Based on this trust, when the director and the producer asked me and Wu Yue to sing THE MOON REPRESENTS MY HEART for the film I agreed right away. As long as you have seen the film you would naturally understand the purpose of this song." The 46 year old Koo Tin Lok gave up his first "real fight". Koo Jai admitted that he had no kung fu background so the training was very tough. He saw Wu Yue and Chris were able to shoot after a practice or two, but he had to rehearse for a very long time before he was able to finish a shot. His pity play was not encouraged though, as his 5 year junior Wu Yue said, "Brother Lok is my god, I grew up with Brother Lok's movies. I also grew up with Big Brother Hung (Kam Bo)'s movies." Koo Tin Lok pretended to be mad and said, "How old are you, how old is Big Brother, how old am I, how can you grow up watching both him and me?"
The film asked "Big Brother" Hung Kam Bo to be the action director. With Koo Tin Lok, Lam Ka Tung, Tony Jaa, Wu Yue, Chris Collins as the most wolf team, the film's action scenes had solid fighting confidence guarantee. The action scenes in the film included gang fights, one on one, ultimate duel and the most explosive scenes for the audience to endless praise, "Every punch hits in the film, the fights are too real!" "You feel like you are living and dying with the protagonist's fate!" "I haven't seen such a fun action film in a very long time!"
Speaking of "fight designs", Hung Kam Bo said that the most important was the depiction of each character's personality and background, but he also immediately cleared his own responsibility and joked, "However I depend on what the director writes. If he doesn't write clearly I can't do anything about that. This is an all purpose action film that has been rare recently in Hong Kong films. In the film are not only one on one fights, but also group films, chases and different types of combat. It is extremely exciting."
