Currently in release in the Mainland, DRUG WAR (DUK JIN) was revealed to be the victim of box office theft at the hands of another film THE CHEF, THE ACTOR, THE SCOUNDREL. Earlier someone displayed online a ticket and claimed that he went to see DRUG WAR, yet the ticket was for THE CHEF, THE ACTOR, THE SCOUNDREL. Thus the ticket counted toward the latter's box office. Since the incident involved its reputation, THE CHEF's film company asked a reputable box office supervision company to investigate in detail and confirmed that the incident took place in a Sichuan cinema. On April 5 at the 21:20 show the illegal sale took place and used that day's 16:00 THE CHEF, THE ACTOR, THE SCOUNDREL's expired ticket to watch DRUG WAR. Through the use of the recycled ticket, the box office revenue was omitted from the box office system. According to the box office supervision company's statement, the move brought losses for DRUG WAR's film company and affected THE CHEF's film company reputation. Thus it suggested to stop further similar behavior and at the same time effective immediately films that the company represented would stop providing films to the cinema. In other words both films were victims.
