Johnnie To Kei Fung's LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE (DUET MING GUM) at the award show became the big winner, winning Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Screenplay; Lau Ching Wan after winning immediately called his wife with the good news.  At the Hong Kong Film Award he lost to Andy Lau Tak Wa.  Did the award make up for that?  He said, "They are not related; wins and losses at award shows are very normal."  Ching Wan said that eh and To Sir usually wouldn't win together.  When he won To Sir did not.  Next time when they will work together again, they might not win together.

Will To Kei Fung make another film with the LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE team?  He said he might as film productions required fate.  Now the market is enormous and many actors are not in Hong Kong.  He said that LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE on and off took two to three years to make.  Actors gave for this performance, luckily their effort was not wasted.  He joked that he was slow with his film production, but Wong Kar Wai was even slower than him.  Recently he has asked him whether THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) was completed.  To Sir joked, "Last year when I asked him he said he still has a week before the wrap, directors are like that, they hope to show the best to the audience."

Best Supporting Actress Denise Ho Wan Si was very nervous at the moment of the announcement.  Lau Ching Wan joked, "I waited for more than a dozen times!"  Ah Si admitted that half the credit of the award went to the director.  "Before hand I didn't know (Kay) Tse On Kay and Lam Yik Wa would present it to me.  When we left at the airport I saw Lam Yik Wa avoiding me, back stage he patted me on the head and told me not to be disappointed, all to give me a surprise."  Tse On Kay said that she saw Ah Si wining in her dream and it came true.
