With continuous film offers in recent years, Donnie Yen Chi Tan's worth has risen ten times. Chi Tan discussed his 30 years in the film industry in an interview with the Associated Press. Its Asia Pacific region executive Maria F. Ronson sent champagne as a surprise to Chi Tan.

Chi Tan expressed that as an actor a state of mind that cannot be disturbed was very important, luckily he did not have such a problem. In recent years he has become a film industry favorites as other martial art stars reduced production. He pointed out that his production rate was not too high either. Someone would make six films a year, but he only made three a year. Perhaps everyone's attention was on him. In the future he will mainly make action films. He felt for an action film, not only martial art fighting was important but also acting. His knowledge of drama has also changed. Will he direct again? Chi Tan pointed out that now action directors have a lot of burdens but the process also has its fun parts. If he just did it for money without any passion, he believed the result would not be good. Currently he still does not have enough time to direct an entire film.

Director Benny Chan Muk Sing, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Collin Chou Siu Lung, Wu Jing and Zhang Jingchu have been promoting their new film CITY UNDER SIEGE (CHUEN SING GAI BEI) in Beijing and Shanghai. Yesterday they finally reached the final Mainland stop in Guangzhou. Because lead actress Shu Qi was busy with IF YOU ARE THE ONE 2, she was absent from the entire Mainland promotion. However she will take time to attend the August 10 Hong Kong premiere.

In the film Shu Qi played a just demoted news anchor Angel, who used Sunny (Kwok Fu Sing)'s mutant news value to save her reputation. However she also felt very guilty due to her selfishness and often cried from blaming herself. Chan Muk Sing pointed out that Shu Qi was a very smart actress who did not need a lot of explanations from her to get into the mood. Her performance was also very appropriate. When he saw her cry he too was very sad.

Sing Sing reunited with Shu Qi 10 years after STORM RIDERS (FUNG WON HUNG BA TIN HA). He expressed that they had a lot of chemistry. He said, "The last time I worked with Shu Qi was ten years ago. Back then we were still young. Now we both are very professional actors. I have a lot of chemistry with her because our rhythms, our filmmaking paces are very well matched. Together we acted like an old couple!"

Popular Taiwan idol Peng Yu-Yan in the film played a losing boxer who not only had exciting romantic scenes with Kwok Choi Kit but also had to fight topless with Ming Dow's boxing king. Peng Yu-Yan also displayed his eight pack abs on the big screen and said about his character,
"Fighting despite losing is the courage that young people should have, never say quit, never give up. We all need that." In the trailer, the score came from May Day's hit SUDDENLY MISSING YOU ALOT (DUT YIN HO SEUNG NEI). May Day has been very generous this time. Not only did the band perform for the film without taking a cent, its lead singer A Shin also appeared in a cameo and big screen debut as a judge.

Nick Cheung Ka Fai in the film THE STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) played a couple with dance expert Miao Pu. They had a romantic dance scene. Miao Pu had a dance background so the simple steps were no problem for her, but Ka Fai was a mess. He expressed that at first when the director talked about this scene, he thought that a few very simple turns and a few lines would do. However he never guessed that his dancing would be so poor. With two left feet and uncoordinated, he was as stiff as a robot. In his mind when he remembered his dance steps he forgot his lines. He was also constantly half a beat behind and stepping on Miao Pu's foot. He left a huge shoe print on her leg.

Maio Pu pointed out that although Ka Fai did not know how to dance and said how tough it was, actually his performance was unaffected because he would make up for his shortcomings. While others rested, he would practice hard. She admired Ka Fai's professionalism very much. They again played a couple after THE BEAST STALKER (JING YUN) and still had chemistry. Ka Fai said that playing a couple for a second time was a delicate destiny. He also praised Miao Pu's acting as more mature than in BEAST STALKER. She also worked very hard and often would humbly ask others for help. She was an actress with a lot of potential.

Joey Yung Cho Yi, Raymond Lam Fung, Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin and Wong Cho Nam starred in THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU), which held its premiere last night. TVB executive Elaine Lok Yi Ling led artists like Christine Kuo Wan Wai, Jess Shum Cheuk Ying, Koni Lui Wai Yi and Katy Kung Ka Yan to steal the leads' thunder. Joey joked that she was "selling dance", the main reason of which was that she had no "career line". She also believed that this was the premiere's selling point, to each its own.

The Shaw Brothers (Hong Kong), Emperor Entertainment Group, Television Broadcasting and Sil-Metropole joint release THE JADE AND THE PEARL held its premiere last night. Emperor and TVB artists like William Chan Wai Ting, Vincy Chan (Wing Yi), Steven Cheung Chi Hung, Sherman Chung Shu Man, Lui Wai Yi, Kuo Wan Wai, Kung Ka Yan and Shum Cheuk Ying all dressed up for the occasion. Shum Cheuk Ying and Kuo Wan Wai put their "career lines" on display. Lui Wai Yi showed off her long legs. They stole the show from leads Lam Fung, Ah Sa and Joey; leads Ah Sa and Lam Fung's fans booked entire shows to support their idols.

Shum Cheuk Ying stated that they did not agree to dress provocatively in advance. Instead yesterday when she ran into Lui Wai Yi at the hair salon. She said, "If you are afraid of having your thunder stolen you can show off long legs. Since she was showing bottom, I showed top!" Kuo Wan Wai was worried about wardrobe malfunction so she did not dare to move too much!

Joey wore 3 inch high heels and appeared with Wong Cho Nam. The height difference won her a lot of attention back. Joey expressed that in the film only Lam Fung and Ah Sa had romance. She had a crush on Lam Fung but she still took action. She saw the film during voice work. At the time people laughed too. Last night's premiere was particularly tense. As for TVB artists stealing the show, Joey showed her music queen style and honestly said that she was "selling dance" art and technique. Mainly she did not have any career line, but she believed that this was the premiere's selling point.

Cho Yi also stated that she was in negotiation for series and films. Acting in front of good actors, she truly was afraid that she would drag others down. Thus she hoped that the film would perform well and give her back some acting confidence. As for box office expectation, Joey said, "Casual, I don't have too much burden. Many above me are carrying it. Poor box office has nothing to do with me, while I get the credit for good box office." Ah Sa stated that if the box office would exceed 15 million in Hong Kong Island, she, Lam Fung and Joey would kiss Wong Cho Nam. Joey would even wax Lam Fung's legs with duct tape! Lam Fung also joked that he asked fans to book entire shows for the box office to support the Kowloon box office.

The Benny Chan Muk Sing directed 100 million yuan new film CITY UNDER SIEGE (CHUEN SING GAI BEI) after its Beijing premiere two days ago went to Shanghai for its premiere press conference with Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Collin Chou Siu Lung, Wu Jing, Zhang Jingchu and the director. Chan Muk Sing thanked the actors for their professionalism, personally performing all the dangerous stunts without any complaint.

Already on his third collaboration with Sing Sing, Chan Muk Sing stated that they already had quite a lot of chemistry. Each time when he asked Sing Sing to personally perform a dangerous stunt, he would only just say "oh" and took his mark, which was very rare for an actor who was without any martial art background. He had 100% confidence in Wu Jing who had a martial art background, and Zhang Jingchu was an actress who asked a lot from herself. For her first action film she too risked her life. However the most toughest one had to be Chou Siu Lung. 80% of his scenes were with special effect make up, and he was also the actor with the longest production time.

Sing Sing said that since he and the director have worked together for so far, he believed that he would not be harmed. Sing Sing joked, "As long as he doesn't kill me, I would obey the director." He also said that this time was full of suffering, not only from the complicated make up process of the transformations but also from a death defying scene at sea. He said, "The area was whirlpools, someone would be swept away if he did not pay attention." Sing Sing also revealed that after working with Roy Chow Hin Yeung he became interested in directing. If he had the chance, he would try to direct.

Chou Siu Lung stated that the biggest challenge was the special effect make up, which had four stages. When he just inhaled the poisonous gas the make up was only on the face, then some skin or head gear was added and he had to wear a thick cotton suit. During the shoot, the temperature reached 30 to 40 degrees Celsius. Everyday the shoot took over 12 hours. It was very tough.

Zhang Jingchu stated that due to the tight schedule, before the shoot she did not have time to train. Thus all the action in the film she learned on the spot. Although she never thought about becoming an action actress, she liked action films very much. She said, "Now I am quite far
behind, but I still have potential. Soon I will be able to play a female IP MAN type character."
