Jessica Hester Hsuan (Suen Huen) dressed up to attend the new
car launch press conference the night before. She revealed that her car
has been in use for more than 20 years, after watching MISSION:
IMPOSSIBLE 2 she bought a stick shift car. Although the current car
maintenance costs were expensive, she did not plan to sell. Instead she
wanted to replace another electric car, which would be convenient to
pick up family members with reduced mobility.
Suen Huen believed that driving was a rare private space for
her. She laughed and said that when she was driving, she liked to
listen to pop songs and hum along. "I listen to everything, even
children's songs. In particular, I listen to more local songs, as I want
to know what's popular now. I prefer (Terence) Lam Ka Him's songs,
which are very good." When asked why she did not show off her voice as
a guest at her friend Raymond Lam Fung's concert, she modestly said,
"I'm not qualified enough, I originally wanted to go to the finale, but
unfortunately I had to prepare for the new car launch. I heard that
(Louis) Koo Tin Lok was the surprise guest at the end, so I deliberately
chose that one on purpose!"
Speaking of the highly anticipated film version of A STEP INTO
THE PAST, BACK TO THE PAST (CHUM CHUN GEI) was finally confirmed to be
release on New Year's Day next year. Suen Huen was relieved. "Finally
I wouldn't be asked anymore! I hope that my appearance won't change
much when the movie is released. The movie was filmed before the
pandemic. I waited for 5 years, and it is the work I have waited for
the longest to come out. Even my family has asked me for 5 years." She
revealed that she could not participate in some of the reshoots. Koo
Tin Lok said that she would use special effects to help her complete
them. As for whether she has reserved a schedule for publicity, Suen
Huen said that she has made no arrangement yet. She hoped to start
after she goes skiing in Japan at the end of the year, and she would
be willing to do publicity in Japan if asked.
The dance performance of jer good partners Bobby Auyeung Chun
Wah, Roger Kwok Chun On, Ron Ng Cheuk Hei and others in variety shows
has aroused heated discussions. Many people laughed at Auyeung Chun Wah
and Kwok Chun On who could not keep up with the rhythm and seemed to
"elderly abuse". Suen Huen showed a heartwarming side, "I have paid
attention to the report, but I have not watched the footage. Variety
shows focus on entertainment. Just like in the Hong Kong show eating
spicy sushi can also be said to be abusive, because you can really
hurt your stomach; but you also have fun." She said that she was
not an expert dancer. She took 5 days to memorize the dance steps
for a dozen second long choreography, she smiled, "I am okay with
memorizing dialogues, but memorizing the dance steps really take
time. Maybe they had limited time to practice, and the show just
wanted their not so proficient performance."
George Au jokes that P1X3L does not make a lot of money so probably would not have any "embezzlement" incident courtesy of mingpao.com
Guy Goup P1X3L member George Au Chun Ho starred in the movie
VALLEY IN THE SHADOW OF DEATH (BUT SEH JI JUI), playing the role of
a young rapist Ah Lok in his film debut. Together with director Antonio
Tam Sin Yeung and actor Shannon Chan Shu Yan, he appeared on Kearen Pang
Sau Wai's ViuTV program Chat KP. Au Chun Ho revealed that he deliberately
dieted to lose weight for the role. "When I first received this role, I
wanted to convince myself first. My body was relatively swollen at that
time, and I didn't look like a person who came out of prison. I went on
a diet, hoping to be a little uglier. I wanted to have the feeling that
I was gross when I looked at myself, then I would be able to convince
the audience." When Pang Sau Wai heard this, she said, "I think you
have put in the hard work, I'm not saying that you are ugly." She
explained that this was a compliment, because she felt that Au Chun Ho
had an experience before entering the story.
With the theme of the show "Unforgivable Things", Pang Sau Wai
asked Au Chun Ho, "If you find that your group mate is embezzling, would
you have the ability to sing and dance with your group mate, do
interviews and greet people with a smile?" Au Chun Ho joked, "We have
never worried about this problem, because we don't make a lot of money!"
Would he be able to forgive his group mates for stealing jobs? Au Chun
Ho said, "If it would really happens, we three brothers would talk about
that. Ultimately everyone is in the same boat, and I would definitely
listen to what the reason would be first." Au Chun Ho said that P1X3L
has a deep brotherhood, "I always think these things wouldn't happen to
us, so I don't think about this problem."

Louis Koo's One Cool Film receives a tip about an online scam that lures in public investment with promises of high return courtesy of mingpao.com
Louis Koo Tin Lok's "One Cool Film" issued a solemn statement on
social platforms yesterday on the recent fraudsters who fraudulently
claimed to be "One Cool Film" to defraud money online, reminding the
public to be vigilant and not to believe in investment information from
unknown sources. "One Cool Film" has recently received reports that
some unknown people in the WeChat group claimed to represent "One Cool
Film Production Co., Ltd." or borrowed the name of the company to claim
to launch the so-called "film and television project investment
platform", using high returns as bait to guide the public to transfer
investment. The statement sets out three points: "This Company has
never launched any public-facing film and television investment platform
or investment products, nor has it authorized any third party
institution or individual to conduct any form of financing, fundraising
or investment promotion activities on behalf of the Company. Any WeChat
group, website or investment plan claiming to be affiliated with 'One
Cool Film Production Limited' is fraudulent use and has no relationship
with the Company. The Company reserves the right to take legal action
against any fraudulent use of the Company's name, trademarks, documents,
seals or forgery of authorisations, and will report the case to the law
enforcement agencies, and will not tolerate illegal fraudsters."

The Hong Kong film market is sluggish, and many film companies
are tightening their belts. Even if they encounter a good script, they
will not make any move for the time being. There are very few films
that have been filmed in the first half of this year. In order to find
funds, many filmmakers had to write proposals to apply for funding from
the Hong Kong Film Development Council. Among them the film about
Hong Kong's first group of medical students' struggles, THE BUTTERFLY
BONE (SUP GOR HOK YI DIK SIU NIN) would receive a funding of HK$ 10
million. Producer and director Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting called in favors
and asked Simon Yam Tat Wah and Cecilia Yip Tung to hold down the fort.
A month ago the production has begun in a low key manner.
As for the Jeffrey Ngai Chun Sun, Renci Yeung Sze Wing and Kevin
Chu Kam Yin starred new film WAKESURF LOVERS (LONG FA NAM NUI), it
would receive HK$ 5.2 million allocation. Reportedly the film has
already completed production. Earlier injured while shooting at sea,
Ngai Chun Sun has recovered after resting and recently shared handsome
photos on social platforms to comfort fans.

A line appears at the Grand Ocean box office
Mr. Ho laments the loss of a landmark as Grand Ocean closes
Ms. Leung and Ms. Tsang visit Grand Ocean together courtesy of on.cc
Tsim Sha Tsui's Grand Ocean Cinema has been open for 56 years
but announced that it will close on June 2nd due to the expiration of
its lease, becoming the fifth cinema to announce its closure this year
after Sunbeam Cinema in North Point, New Port Cinema in Mong Kok, Golden
Harvest Whampoa and Tai Koo Kornhill Cinema. Senior filmmaker Tin Kai
Man recently spoke with Poon Siu Chung on his online program and
mentioned the closure of the Grand Ocean Cinema. He expressed
reluctance and pity, with many memories professionally and personally
there. He revealed that a new film would be released in Golden
Harvest Cinemas. Grand Ocean was the Golden Harvest's dragon head
cinema. Now with the dragon head, he had quite a headache.
Tin Kai Man said that he worked at Golden Harvest for a long
time, filmed in the Grand Ocean Cinema, had many premieres at this
cinema and many memories. Regarding the closure of the theater one
after another, Tin Kai Man said, "I can tell everyone, it's almost over;
maybe a few more. The decline should be settled this year! There are
also new additions, Sunbeam has taken over Whampoa, and Plaza Hollywood
has both taken over Sil-Metropole, so everyone should be so negative."
The Grand Ocean Cinema released the Hollywood film MISSION
IMPOSSIBLE: THE FINAL RECKONING yesterday, and different screenings
throughout the day had the support of many people. A line appeared at
the box office. Mr. Ho said that he learned of the closure of the
Grand Ocean Cinema and came to the theater to show his support. "This
cinema has a very big screen, when I was younger I often came to watch
movies. I remember watching ROCKY the most, and I think it is a pity
to see its closing. This is a landmark. When I was little I don't
have money for tickets to watch movies. After graduation and I started
working I had money and often came to watch movies, I would come on
dates many times." He said that as a movie fan, it was a pity to see so
many theater closings in Hong Kong. Now he admired the Broadway
Cinematheque in Yau Ma Tei the most, as it often showed movies that were
too mainstream. "Actually there are a lot less good movies now, but in
recent years many Hong Kong movies are very good; especially young
directors'. I would watch every one. Instead the Marvel movies in the
United States have been ruined, I haven't been watching many of them."
Ms. Leung and her friend Ms. Tsang were going to the Grand Ocean
Cinema together. Originally they planned to see BALLERINA at the Grand
Ocean once it would be released, but they did not expect it to close
before the release. Ms. Leung said, "I still have a glimmer of hope,
it's truly a pity. I really think that only these big screen theaters
would be worthy of this kind of blockbuster." Both of them said that
they used to go to the Grand Ocean to watch movies all the time. They
were shocked to hear the news of the closure, and felt that they had
lost something in an era. They agreed that the film market was very
poor, but last year they supported several Hong Kong films at the
theaters. They watched THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) and TWILIGHT OF
THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) and indicated
that they would not mind watching good movies again and again.
Married for more than 20 years, Mr. and Mrs Choi specifically
bought tickets to reminisce about the feelings from when they were
dating. Mrs. Choi said, "When I learned that the cinema would be
closing, I felt that it is a bit of a pity. Hong Kong has already lost
many of its big theaters." Mr. and Mrs. Cheng live on Hong Kong Island
district but after learning the closing of the Grand Ocean they crossed
the harbor to show their support. Mrs. Cheng said, "There are very few
cinemas with such a big screen nowadays. Although this cinema is
closed, it is not a pity because there are still many cinemas to choose
from."
Dilraba's classic look instantly kills the fans courtesy of on.cc
Who would be the "female lead" in the movie star Stephen Chow
Sing Chi's new work WOMEN'S SOCCER? Opinions have differed. Always
said to be "firmly" in the lead actress position, mainland star Zhang
Xiaofei has completed her part of the shoot before the crew was
finished, making Dilraba instantly the "female lead" focus as she has
worked on the film from beginning to end ! WOMEN has a strong and g
growing cast, as Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi reportedly has been invited to
make a cameo. Celebrating her 45th birthday yesterday, she has received
a lot of support from fans!
Stephen Chow Sing Chi's new film WOMEN'S SOCCER has been
attracting much attention since its launch in early March, and much has
been said especially about the cast and the "order". Some pointed out
that mainland artists Lay Zhang Yixing and Zhang Xiaofei would be the
male and female leads, Dilraba would only be in a supporting role.
Zhang Xiaofei has made sufficient preparations in advance of playing the
role. She kept "training like crazy" until she has achieved abdominal
muscles. Her jersey number in the film would be "Number 10", just like
Chow Sing Chi's SHAOLIN SOCCER. Talks of her being the "first female
lead" have gained some legs.
Since the start of WOMEN's production to now, it has always been
in production in secret. Many media outlets wanted to catch the latest
update. Earlier the film team filmed at a large stadium in the mainland.
A lot of tents and cranes appeared at the location, as well
as many actor trailers. Reportedly Chow Sing Chi has been walking
around the set and giving guidance in person. Zhang Xiaofei was also
leaving Shenzhen after finishing the production, which surprised many
online because she complete her shoot in only two months -- a full month
faster than originally scheduled. Actually not the entire production
has wrapped, only Zhang Xiaofei's role had been filmed. Dilraba's
scenes would shoot until the 6th of next month, and wrapped up the
production with the crew.
Dilraba would participate throughout the entire process from
the start to the end of the production. In addition, a filmmaker with
a close relationship with Stephen Chow Sing Chi, Tin Kai Man pointed out
in an interview that Dilraba's role occupies an important position in
the new film. Earlier Dilbraba was caught in a red "number 8" jersey on
the set and kept practice, making who was the "real lead actress" a hot
topic again. Dilraba also sacrificed a lot in order to make WOMEN. In
addition to practicing until she was hurting all over, she would also
turn 33 on the 3rd of next month and spend it on the set. In addition
to taking care of movies, Dilraba has also filmed a lot of variety shows
earlier, and recently her studio has laid out a number of photos of her
from "THE TRUTH 3". As soon as her classic beauty look was released,
she easily won praises from fans.
In addition to the "battle for the lead", the list of other
actors in WOMEN is also just as attractive, including television Best
Actress Sisley Choi Si Bui, Korean actor Song Kang-ho, etc. Recently
once with a cameo in SHAOLIN SOCER (SIU LUM JOOK KAU), Cecilia Cheung
Pak Chi would guest star again. In recent years, she and Stephen Chow
Sing Chi have had a lot of interaction and cooperation on the Internet,
and have remained friendly for many years. If the cameo would come to
be, it would be very meaningful. Celebrated her 45th birthday
yesterday, Cheung Pak Chi received special support on the bus and
shopping mall screens at HKU from a group of fan. She did not know
anything beforehand, and she was surprised when she saw it. She was
very grateful to the fans for their love over the years! Always putting
her family first, she is now on her birthday vacation to enjoy family
fun with her three sons as a birthday gift.

organized, the Film Development Fund funded all new "Kowloon Walled
City: A Cinematic Journey" movie set exhibition opened yesterday. The
three leading actors of TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS:WALLED IN (GAU LUNG
SING JAI JI WAIS SING) Philip Ng Wan Lung, German Cheung Man Kit and
Tony Wu Tsz Tung gathered at the scene to relive the classic scenes in
the film. The exhibition meticulously recreates sets such as "Seven
Kee Cafe", "Dragon City Hair Salon", "Store" and "Walled City Rooftop",
and has been selected as one of the nine major tourist hotspots in Hong
Kong.
Cheung Man Kit Kowloon Walled City Park for the first time, and
said with a smile that he was particularly pleased with the air
-conditioning equipment in the exhibition. "It is a good place to take
photos and check in." Ng Wan Lung had a soft spot for the rooftop set.
"Like the scene of a plane flying over the old airport, it's very
interesting!" Wu Tsz Tung said, "Actually, I've been to the walled city
before, but I didn't know its history then. After making a film and
then putting the exhibition here, we seem to have made history.
Bringing Hong Kong's cultural history from the film to introduce this
part of history to the younger generation is a very meaningful cultural
legacy, and can also attract more foreign audiences to support Hong
Kong's film and tourism industry."
At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, producer Peter Lam
Kin Ngok confirmed that the second and third installments will begin
production. Cheung Man Kit said that he has received the notice, but
he did not know when the actual production start time would be and was
actively preparing; Ng Wan Lung Was open to the return of the role of
"Wong Gau". The trio has earlier recorded a funny video for Raymond Lam
Fung's concert, and Tony Wu Tsz Tung said with a smile, "When I went to
see the first show, I almost couldn't recognize Ah Fung with his dyed
blond hair."
When They were suggested to open a restaurant to sell barbecued
pork rice to drive the economy, Wu Tsz Tung revealed that he had the
idea of opening a "walled city-themed coffee shop". "I have seen many
restaurants launch 'walled city barbecued pork rice', which proves that
this IP has great commercial potential." When asked if he would invite
his boss Louis Koo Tin Lok to invest, he responded humorously, "It
depends on whether Boss Koo is interested, and we 'children' are only
responsible for eating."
Recently photographed visiting a theme park with a young girl,
Ng Wan Lung responded to the rumors of a relationship, "I won't talk
about it in detail. I enjoy a day with my friends that day. Right now
we are getting to know each other. When a clearer photo is taken I will
talk more about it." Would he announce his relationship? He said that
he would not make a special announcement whether he was dating or not.
When asked about the woman's identity, he played coy and said, "Everyone
will naturally know in the future."
Having been called an "urban legend", BACK TO THE PAST (CHUM
CHUN GEI)'s movie version has finally planned to be released this year.
Cheung Man Kit said that he has booked popcorn to enter the theater to
support the film. Wu Tsz Tung smiled and said, "The destiny is the
highest, finally it is release!"

The Juno Mak Chun Lung directed film SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT
(FUNG LUM FOR SI) recently held its world premiere at the Cannes Film
Festival. After the screening the film became a hot topic as its
reviews were mixed. Mak Chun Lung attended a press conference with
Louis Koo Tin Lok, Gao Yuanyuan and Tony Leung Ka Fai the night before,
saying that he had mixed emotions about the Cannes midnight screening
selection of SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT. On the one hand he was very happy;
and on the other hand, it meant that it was time for him to let go of
the work. The premiere and promotional activities in the past few days
felt very dreamy. Mak Chun Lung did not respond directly to the average
reviews of the film after the premiere, only saying that it would be
very difficult for the audience to understand the movie after watching
it once. "I think the director needs to have his own opinion
on each subject, thank you for giving us the space to explore other
subjects. RIGOR MORTIS (GEUNG SI) and SONS differ very much in film
style, the director should bring the audience a new experience. I spent
10 years to make this film. If the audience would be able to fully
understand it after watching it once, the contrast would be too great.
A work of art would experience growth as the audience ages, and would
have different feelings at different times."
Speaking of creating a new film, Mak Chun Lung said, "For many
movies people would talk about how close the characters are to the
audience, but what I wanted this time was a sense of strangeness. As an
viewer, when I go to the theater as an adult I pursue a sense of
strangeness. When the lights go out, it would bring me another
perspective. The most difficult thing this time is to create a world
view; SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT has a very large territory, there are
cities, there are radiation areas, and the creation of this world has
its own weather, climate, and the existence of many characters."
Koo Tin Lok was happy and excited that SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT's
Cannes selection, because he could meet everyone at the film festival.
He revealed that he would attend the "Hong Kong Night" in the future,
hoping to promote the new film to the world. He praised director Mak
Chun Lung for being very patient. His character had a cat at home, and
Mak Chun Lung asked him to keep the cat. "Why would that cat in the
movie be willing to lie down next to me in bed to sleep? Because I
kept this cat until I cultivated the feeling". In another scene he was
alone at home with the cat, Koo Tin Lok said that it was the same when
he was alone at home in reality, and joked that he was actually very
cute himself.
Leung Ka Fai talked about the difficulty of the role, saying
that playing a role in the past was performance. This time his
performance was a part of life, allowing him to better understand
himself and everything he had to face. Leung Ka Fai mentioned that
after watching the film again at the premiere he had an even deeper
feeling. "Last night gave me a deeper feeling of what I did seven
years ago. This was the second time I've seen this film, and I had
a new perspective on the film and my character." Gao Yuanyuan said
that SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT was a very complex role she encountered
before 2017, she had a certain distance and a sense of power at the
same time. "I feel so strange when I see the movie at the premiere,
but this is what I want. I want to see myself with a sense of
freshness, and I thank the director for helping me complete this role.

At the 78th Cannes International Film Festival the Hong Kong
directed Juno Mak Chun Lung produced, directed, written and art directed
suspense film SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT (FUNG LUM FOR SHAN) was selected
for the "Midnight Screening section" this year and held its world
premiere in Cannes on May 17th. Juno led stars Louis Koo Tin Lok, Gao
Yuanyuan and Tony Leung Ka Fai in the appearance. Lead actor Takeshi
Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo) remained reclused and did not appear. When he
heard the event playing the hit CARELESS WHISPER and the SONS OF THE
NEON NIGHT film score, Leung Ka Fai even hummed along and danced. He
also often fixed Gao Yuanyuan's dress and put his gentleman behavior on
display.
SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT was Juno's second directorial work after
RIGOR MORTIS (GEUNG SI), which took eight years to polish. The film was
based on gangster drug trafficking and anti-drug power struggles, with
its sharp aesthetic style and all-star lineup it has become one of the
high-profile Chinese films at this year's film festival. Juno admitted
that making this film was "like making six movies". After the film
was screened, the audience stood and applauded. Director Juno thanked
the audience in English. Leung Ka Fai said, "After watching the movie,
I feel that I have no regrets about playing this role for the rest of my
life. Being able to meet such a character and such a movie, I have
already answered for my acting life."
Everyone stayed on the red carpet for about half a hour then
entered the venue, which had no empty seat. Regarded as an "urban
legend", SONS reportedly cost over HK$ 400 million. From preparation to
production wrap, it has taken almost 10 years so far. This time at
Cannes its veil of mystery was finally revealed and had plenty of
responses. Some film critics praised the film to be full of aesthetics.
Some however thought that it lacked emotions and narrative connections,
which made it difficult for the audience to get into. Some said that
the film was cut from the rumored 7 hours version to the current 132
minute version. Too much material did not have enough time to appear.
If it was made into a series the result would be conceivably better.
Chung Suet Ying talks about the food she has had in Taiwan courtesy of on.cc
Golden Horse Awards Best Actresses Chung Suet Ying and Marco Ng
Tsz Ho went to Taiwan earlier to promote their movie THE WAY WE TALK
(HONG NGOR GUM TIN JUM MOR SUET). Chung Suet Ying said that she had
spicy hot pot as soon as she arrived in Taipei on the first day, then
she ordered a lot of take outs that included skewers and salted crispy
chicken. She pointed out that she has been to Taiwan since she was very
little, and the most memorable was that she often went to Taiwan for
meat porridge, braised pork and meatballs in college, for which the host
praised her.
Chung Suet Ying also visited Taiwan for filming when she was
working on the movie A LYRCIST WANNABE (TIN CHI L) before. What did
she think was the difference between filming in Hong Kong and Taiwan?
She pointed out that all staff in Taiwan will carry their work IDs that
would clearly list the names and positions of the staff. Hong Kong was
different, as she joked that after finishing a film in Hong Kong she
still did not know who the staff were.
Patrick Tam Yiu Man and Locker Lam Ka Hei played father and son
in the film that explored the communication between two generations and
would be released next month, FIGHT FOR TOMORROW (PING MING SAM LONG).
Locker said that Tam Yiu Man gave a full fatherly feeling. "During the
filming I often had to control my diet. Sometimes I would choose light
food for late night snacks. He would often joke, 'I am with you, Ah Pa
would have to eat a little lighter.' These humorous interactions made
the father-son relationship no longer monotonous, but showed a funny and
light-hearted side and made the characters more three-dimensional."

the early morning as she pumps breast milk, leaves her baby with her
mother-in-law, and heads to the bakery where she works. Her baby
daughter Qing is difficult and cries constantly and Jing frequently
clashes with her live-in in-laws over childcare and housework, while
her husband, who works as a delivery driver, views parenting as
something he occasionally helps with. All she did was have a child,
yet Jing's life is turned upside down, leaving her in a situation
where all her efforts to build her career have been negated. Director
Oliver Siu Kuen Chan meticulously dissects Jing's struggles, revealing
the emotional turbulence she endures. The film’s realistic and precise
narrative depicts the suffocating oppression women suffer within both

'motherhood,' and resolutely move forward, forcing Jing to make a
final decision.
