The anti-corruption storm film series' final chapter G STORM (G FUNG BO) yesterday officially opened on New Year's Eve. The film aside from Louis Koo Tin Lok, Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Kevin Cheng Ka Wing also added Jessica Hester Hsuan (Suen Huen), Bosco Wong Chung Chak and the Malaysian Best Actor Rosyam Nor. The film production had heavier and heavier investments with each installment, including a gun fight and car chase near the Cultural Center in Tsim Sha Tsui. One of the bright spot was Ka Wing and Bosco's brotherly conflict. While investigating a case Ka Wing discovered that Bosco was involved in corruption and fell between a rock and a hard place. Bosco was tied up and turned into a human bomb. Tied up to a wheel chair the entire time, Bosco kept himself from going to the bathroom in order not to hinder the production.

The team successfully applied for the large scene gun fight at the Cultural Center with over 100 extras. Bosco recalled being tied up by criminals to the Cultural Center gates. "The team tied me to a wheel chair, then tied a large bomb to me. Basically I couldn't move. When Ka Wing arrived he could offer no help, because he was only ICAC and not a bomb disposal expert." Bosco in order to keep from wasting time from locking and unlocking the lock, he sat on the wheel chair before dinner. He even kept himself from going to the bathroom, while he only drank water with the assistant's help.

Bosco said that the director and Goo Jai gave him several challenges. He said, "They asked me and Ka wing to each interpret several different versions for them to choose. I thought it was pretty fun, everyone tried to add some new challenges and new elements into the film." Ka Wing said that he and Bosco have not worked with each other in a long time, when they were not working they would relive when they worked on television series. Ka Wing continued to say that this time in the film because of Bosco's involvement in corruption he had to choose between family and justice. In addition, Ka wing hoped that the audience would be able to relate more to familiar locations like the gun fight at the Cultural Center.

Former Radio Hong Kong assistant chief Cheung Man Sun says that the most important for a merger between Radio Hong Kong and TVB's music award would be credibility and public recognition, as long as it would promote music it would have no problem.

The first Top Ten Chinese Gold Song Awards took place at the Sheraton Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui in 1979

The Four Great Heavenly Kings Leon Lai, Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau and Aaron Kwok performed FRIENDS at the 16th Top Ten Chinese Gold Song Awards to thunderous applause

Jacky Cheung and Cheung Man Sun proposed a single music award in the past, but due to commercial reasons it did not progress further

Radio Hong Kong's Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Awards is the oldest Hong Kong music award in history. After the 43th year, rumors surfaced that the Radio Hong Kong's Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs and TVB's Jade Solid Gold Award would merge with the news to be officially announced on January 5th. Radio Hong Kong's former Broadcasting Authority assistant chief Cheung Man Sun was the "Father of Gold Songs". He urged Gold Songs to never forget its original intent, Radio Hong Kong had to "keep its doors open" to promote music and welcome collaboration with different organizations.

Cheung Man Sun in 1975 founded Hong Kong's first Chinese song chart. The Radio Hong Kong program Chinese Song Chart was born. In 1979 the first Top Ten Chinese Gold Song Award took place at the Sheraton Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui.

What did Brother Sun think about the two stations' award merger? He admitted that he has caught wind of the news. He was neither in support nor in opposition. Friends have asked him whether he worried that the Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs would disappear. He said, "Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs is only a name, the most important is to promote music. Everyone still has to look further ahead. I welcome change, as long as it preserves the 'Gold Song Spirit', including its credibility and recognition. It would need the support of music fans and record companies! In the 1970s, Cantonese songs rose. I founded the Chinese Song Chart. In 1979 I started what I dare say the firs global Chinese region gold song award, 11 years before Taiwan's Gold Melody awards. It was the glorious history of Radio Hong Kong. More people collaboration in this game would be good, so back then I brought in CASH, IFPI for assistance and increased the number of awards, like Best Song Writing, Best Lyrics, and the IFPI Grand Prize. Back then whoever's record sales were the strongest was the champion, the big winner."

Brother Sun revealed that early in the year Eric Tsang Chi Wai contacted him, saying that he would return to TVB and hope to improve its music programs. He would break the ice with record companies and the stalemate.

Brother Sun said, "I believe in Chi Wai's sincerity, now he has achieved results. An united music scene might not be able to reach the most glorious era of the 1980s, but at least it is a step ahead. As for Radio Hong Kong management and former colleagues in music, I believe they too want to have a breakthrough. I have a minor warning, TVB's music strategy has to be the presence of a major station. It's not just for the ratings of one night or supporting their own singers. Improving credibility is the general director of the music industry. Radio Hong Kong is a government operated broadcasting organization, its responsibility is even greater. Its election methods have to be singers and fan recognized as fair. Some felt that this collaboration was Radio Hong Kong helping TVB 'against' rival ViuTV, thus it must be handled even more carefully and avoid this storm. Radio Hong Kong should 'keep its doors open' to welcome all media, including collaborations with ViuTV, Commercial Radio, Metro or Mainland media."

He said that he did not know whether this Radio Hong Kong and TVB collaboration would be experimental or a long term project. He would not eliminate the possibility that it would work with other organizations or resume the individual Top Ten Chinese Gold Song event. New collaboration would bring spark and motivation inevitably, so there would be no need to feel regret over a name. The most important was the Gold Song Spirit. Radio Hong Kong Top Ten Gold Song's credibility came from its fairness. Back then award winning songs included TVB Joseph Koo Ka Fai's gold songs as well as RTV Michael Lai Siu Tin's award winning songs, so being gracious was very important. Radio Hong Kong's most recent airplay policy has also become controversial and accused of being less than fair. Brother Sun admitted that he has paid less attention to the song chart but heard people say that Radio Hong Kong played MIRROR songs less. He said, "If this really is the situation, I too would feel it is neither ideal nor healthy. Back then when I worked on the chart, Commercial Radio DJ Lo Yip Mei, daughter in law (Cass) Phang Ling also won a lot of awards at Radio Hong Kong. Only a music scene like this would have a full bloom!"

Years ago Brother Sun urged to have "one award show", an unification of various station's music awards. After brewing for years, it was unable to come to fruition due to each station's commercial factor considerations. Brother Sun said that Jacky Cheung Hok yau also suggested "one award show" to him, but in practice it would have a lot of difficulties. Executives of the four stations have met several times, but due to business issues they could not move forward. Brother Sun had another suggestions whether the Hong Kong music award could be half government promoted. In recent years the Hong Kong government has put a lot of effort into promoting sports activities. Actually Hong Kong creative industry included film and music, which also brought glory and financial benefit to the people of Hong Kong and would be very effective in uniting the people of Hong Kong. He hoped that the government would pay attention to the Hong Kong creative industry.

Lin Minchen reveals that she has no suitor

Stephy Tang is in no hurry to look for the other half

Lin Minchen in her Lunar New Year had 18 boyfriends, but in real life she was worried that she would be too busy and thus would not want so many boyfriends. She also revealed that the goddess actually had no suitor. "Everyone thinks I have a lot of suitors."

Stephy Tang Lai Yun, Lin Minchen, Ivana Wong Yuen Chi and others two nights ago shot the "Easter Egg" for their Lunar New Year film TABLE FOR SIX (FAN HEI GUNG SUM) at Diamond Hill. The "Malaysian Goddess" Lin Minchen in the film had 18 boyfriends, ANSONBEAN, Ng Siu Hin and Locker Lam Ka Hei were three among them. She felt that the trio represented sexy, cute and manly types. With numerous boyfriends in the film, she would shake her head in real life. She joked, "I wouldn't want so many, because I would be very busy. In real life no one is after me, because everyone thinks I would have a lot of suitors." How would the 3 men win over the goddess' heart? Locker said that he would take her for her favorite curry fish balls; Ng Siu Hin would bring the goddess to Tuen Mun to hunt for a home. She however saw Dayo Wong Tze Wa as her ideal type. "Brother Tze Wa is one of my boyfriends in the movie. During the shoot he very patiently taught me Cantonese. Each time he appeared a breeze would appear, he is very cool."

Tang Lai Yan and Taiwan star Prince Chiu have broken up for half a year. Lately he has been linked to Taiwan goddess Puff Kuo. She said, "I read the news, ultimately if it's true I would wish him well, if it's not I still would wish him well. (Did you ask Prince/) I wouldn't be so nosy! (Do you believe it's true?) I don't get to say whether I believe it or not, let him speak for himself. Everyone then knows the truth. (Would you find a mate in the New Year?) I haven't thought about it specifically, I only hoped for the pandemic to pass soon and I can travel and make more good movies." Wong Yuen Chi said that the "added dish" scene was so cheerful that it was like shooting a second movie. Philip Keung Ho Man said that his favorite was Lunar New Year film productions. Every year he would like to take part for good luck.

Anita Mui fans brought banners, balloons and flowers to remember their idol in front of her statue at the Avenue of Stars

Director Longman Leung and star Louise Wong enjoyed the film company's free tram ride with fans

The Louise Wong Dan Nei and Louis Koo Tin Lok starred biographical film ANITA since its release has made over HK$ 60 million and the top grossing Chinese film of the year. Yesterday was the 18th anniversary of the late diva Anita Mui Yim Fong's passing, the film company Edko films in order to thank for viewers for their support paid for tram rides for everyone all day as a gift for the people of Hong Kong from ANITA.

Yesterday Wong Dan Nei, director Longman Leung and the film company boss Bill Kong Chi Keung also attended and rode the tram with a dozen or so fans. On the way Wong Dan Nei even sang many Sister Mui's classic songs and attracted many onlookers.

ANITA since its release has made over HK$ 60 million and set many records, including the top grossing Chinese film box office, the top Chinese film single day box office of the year and the top Chinese film opening box office and others. Director Longman Leung said, "I will continue to work hard, Hong Kong film really needs the support of Hong Kong viewers. Only with you would there be Hong Kong film."

Later he continued that he did not expect the film would perform so well. He also never thought about the story with the box office in mind, he worked hard on the story first. He pointed out that before the production he only had three goals. "The first was the hope that viewers who grew up with Mui Yim Fong after watching the film wouldn't yell at me too strongly. The second was for people of the same generation would miss Sister Mui. The third was for the Post 90s to know Mui Yim Fong from the film, so they would know that how exciting and brilliant Sister Mui's show business career was. I feel honored and fortunate that all three goals in the end were met."

As for lead actress Wong Dan Nei, how would she celebrate? She said that she would celebrate with dinner with her family. She felt that this time's tram ride was very meaningful. "It continued Sister Mui's noble heart of loving the community and everyone. I am very happy that I am able to ride the tram and sing with so many Sister Mui's fans." She also pointed out that the film was full of positive energy. She received many messages from fans, expressing that in the face of low points and difficulties in life they still were able to find confidence and original intent through the film and continue to work hard.

With an ideal box office performance with her first lead role, would Wong Dan Nei thus have more appearance opportunities? She said, "Like many foreign documentary film actors, I would move on to make other and different genre roles. I hope to become an actor with many different faces, and give people different impressions. After Christmas I would pick up modeling and advertising work again, I also have movies in negotiation but they would have to wait until next year."

Would the director work with Wong Dan Nei again? He praised her for having a lot of potential, but first and foremost her co-star would have to be as tall as Wong Dan Nei. Wong Dan Nei joked that Hong Kong has many very tall guys. Yesterday morning, Anita Mui fan club's secretary Candy went with fans to San Sin Chun Tong to pay their respect to Sister Mui. They brought their idols' favorite food and a photo of Sister Mui in a wedding gown. ANITA made Mui fans missed their idol especially. Candy admitted that this year the emotions have run greater, as she watched the movie seven times and cried all seven times. As memories flooded back, she praised that the film did not disappoint the fans.

Mui fan Winnie at firs was very resistant to the film, feeling that no one would be able to replace Sister Mui. Later when she watched it again she finally was able to get into it and praised the actors for their effort. She pointed out that many Mui fans who were already Mommy or Grandma would bring their next generations to enjoy the film, so they would understand why their parents would like and respect Sister Mui. They said that fans under Sister Mui's influence have quietly performed charity work over 18 years. The fan club this year would donate HK$ 50,000 to Doctors without Borders in hopes of continuing Sister Mui's charitable spirit.

Fan club "Mui Nation"'s vice presidents Eva and Connie yesterday afternoon presented flowers with a group of fans at Sister Mui's statue on the Avenue of Stars and sang WOMAN OF SONG for Sister Mui. At night they would watch DEAREST ANITA again at Causeway Bay and take the free tram ride. They said that ANITA was touching and said that a Post Millennial little girl fell in love with Sister Mui due to the movie. Mui Nation hoped to hold a large scale memorial event on the 20th anniversary of Sister Mui's passing. Connie revealed that they would considering having young people perform Sister Mui's work in a busking format, so Sister Mui's songs would ring throughout the 18 districts. They would try to ask artists to collaborate.

In addition, Sister Mui's friend Eddie Lau Pui Kei two nights ago shared many stage photos from Sister Mui's final concert, including the wedding gown that he personally tailored for her.

The National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police Force yesterday arrested 6 current and former online media executives under suspicion of violating the Crimes Ordinance 9 and 10 for printing, publishing, selling, offering for sale, distributing, displaying or reproducing any seditious publication. Among them was former THE STAND NEWS director Denise Ho Wan Si. Ho Wan Si's social media yesterday morning said that she was arrested at her residence at 6 AM was brought to the police station. Then the social media after a hour was updated, saying that Ho Wan Si felt OK and asked her friends not to worry. Friends Anthony Wong Yiu Ming, Chapman To Man Chak, Gregory Wong Chung Hiu all posted. Ho Wan Si earlier announced that her online concert would take place on January 2nd. Her manager replied to Ming Pao that for now the band would rehearse as usual. Further decision would be made depending on the situation.

The Police's National Security Department yesterday morning arrested 6 current and former directors and executives of THE STAND NEWS, including Ho Wan Si. Her facebook page yesterday on 8:37 AM posted, "This morning at 6AM the police's National Security Department arrested Ho Wan Si at her residence on 'conspiracy to publish and reproduce seditious publication'. Now she has been brought to the Western District Police Station." Then at 9:48 AM, Ho Wan Si's facebook page posted, "(Admin) HOCC: I feel OK, friends who are concerned please don't worry."

Ho Wan Si's friend Wong Yiu Ming posted, "I LOVE YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE." To Man Chak also posted a photo with Ho Wan Si. "I know you won't be scared." Wong Chung Hiu posted, "Heavy". Many online hoped that Ho Wan Si would be safe and would properly protect herself.

Ho Wan Si would have scheduled programs on her YouTube channel. Earlier she announced that she would welcome 2022 with a outdoors campfire mini concert at 3:30 PM on January 2nd for paying members.

She posted, "This time we would play two records with Master Ying from 20 years ago, playing the songs made me very happy." She also shared a video of her playing the guitar in the rehearsal room and a video of her dancing with a dog. She posted, "At the outdoors Mini Live Concert to welcome 2022, watch my performance of the spinning folk dance. #NOTGONNALIE #IAMDANCER"

After her arrest, would the concert take place as scheduled? Ming Pao contacted Ho Wan Si's manager Jelly. She said that everything would depend on Ah Si's situation. For now the band would rehearse as usual and perform to the best of their abilities.

Kathy Yuen worked with Ron Ng for the first time and thought he was very humorous

Kathy Yueng studied Veronica Yip's 3 DAYS OF A BLIND GIRL before the production began.  While admitting that she was no match for Yip's figure, she believed that each had her own unique style.

Kathy Yuen (Tong Yee) and Ron Ng Cheuk Hei usually played the innocent girl and the righteous good guy. In their latest film LOVE IS BLIND, HATE TOO (JI MING 24 SI SIU) they made 180 degree turns and transformed into a scheming woman and a two faced jerk -- breakthrough performances for both. They agreed that actors had to dare to try, be willing to make sacrifice for art, leave their idol baggage in order to have any breakthrough.

Tong Yee and Ng Cheuk Hei worked together for the first time and played a couple in LOVE IS BLIND, HATE TOO. Tong Yee said, "Actually Cheuk Hei is very funny and interesting." Cheuk Hei said that while working on the set, he did not dare to joke around with Tong Yee. "Her character had a lot of emotional upheaval, so I didn't dare to bother her." Tong Yee revealed that the role was very challenging, once she worried that she might not be able to handle it. Before taking it she considered it for a long time. "Actors shouldn't worry too much, they have to go all out and give more confidence to themselves."

Director Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum) was brainwashed by the 1990s sexy goddess Veronica Yip Yuk Hing starred thriller 3 DAYS OF A BLIND GIRL, inspiring him to remake the classic 28 years later. He tailored the fragile exterior but actually scheming inside, new generation "blind girl" role for Tong Yee. Tong Yee heard about it and thus before the production studied Sister Hing's performance. "In terms of figure I am no match for Sister Hing, but each film has its own unique spot." Cheuk Hei said that any comparison between the two films would be difficult. "The era, the actors and the audience are different. I believe back then this subject might be very forward. I have seen Sister Hing's. This time Tong Yee's performance would be even more hardcore, even heavier, even I was exhausted from the performance."

Speaking of Tong Yee's numerous sexy scenes, Cheuk Hei chimed in and joked, "The director wanted to see them himself." Tong Yee said that this time was the farthest she has gone in her career. Before hand she and director Yip Lim Sum studied the prettiest angles to shoot from. After building trust, she relaxed into her performance. "I am the king of wardrobe malfunction prevention, I asked for the set to be cleared so I felt a little more comfortable." In comparison, playing blind and being tortured was even more difficult. Tong Yee said, "I chose to play the blind with my eyes open, but during the shoot my eyes were drier from the lack of rest. I could easily blink and change the focus, so I had to control myself and keep myself from blinking."

Shooting extreme scenes like being slapped, having her hair pulled, thrown from the sofa to the ground, Tong Yee said that her co-star Poon Chan Leung held back, but in order to be more realistic she risked physical pain and suffered and asked him to hit her for real. "After work when I got home and removed the make up, I saw all the micro blood vessel bursts, with red marks and bruises all over. I was really surprised."

When Tong Yee made this film two years ago she was still single, now she is both a wife and a mother. Her husband Maverick Mak Chau Sing is also an artist. She said that he understood the on screen work and even looked forward to her sexy performance. They had an understanding and would not limit the others' jobs. She said, "I am an actor, if because I am married I restrict myself, I would no longer have any breakthrough."

She said that she was scheming in the film, but in real she and her husband got along harmoniously and without much calculation. She joked, "Because his stuff is mine and my stuff is mine." Cheuk Hei saw how happy Tong Yee's life was and was happy for her. Did her long for marriage? He admitted, "I do long for marriage, but men are different from women. I have to work on my career first, destiny will soon arrive."

Having played many righteous characters, he changed his genre and played a two faced man. On the surface he was a good doctor, but secretly he sold fake medicine and hurt people. He was also unfaithful to his wife. Cheuk Hei said that the role was a lot of fun. "I used to play cops and had to keep their image in mind. Actually I don't have much baggage. At first I thought the director was asking me to work on a romantic film and wouldn't need to fight, later I learned that it would be thriller. Playing the bad guy is even better. I really want to try thriller and disaster films. For actors trying different roles is a good thing, they would have different faces once in the dramatic world. When I worked on series before I have played the villain."

Cheuk Hei and Jeana Ho Pui Yu had daring intimate scenes. He said that as an actor he was more passive. During the shoot he followed the director's instruction exactly and would not casually stick his arms out. Was he afraid of being accused of "copping a feel"? He joked, "I haven't accused Jeana yet. No, we have communicated very well."

Speaking of the fight scenes with stage drama king Poon Chan Leung, Cheuk Hei said that he got goose bumps. "Brother Chan doesn't have bad takes on the stage, his memory is trained, his expression is on the spot. I learned to control my emotions from him, in fight scenes we didn't speak much. Two men exchanged looks, my adrenaline skyrocketed and I was very high."

He and Tong Yee both looked forward to working with Poon Chan Leung again, as they have not have enough from this time. Having watched two screenings earlier, Tong Yee was pleased with her performance. With praises for her performance, she admitted that her self confidence was strengthened but she did not dare to think about any award. Cheuk Hei joked that the director was afraid that he would not attend the premiere, so he never had any chance to examine his own performance.
