Simon Yam Tat Wa earlier led Jordan Chan Siu Chun, Philip
Ng Won Lung and Sabrina Qiu on an assassination assignment in their new
film. Yam Ta Wa often demonstrated the so-called "looking cooler even
when holding a gun" like an instructor. Director Kam Ka Wai said,
"Brother Wa's acting is cool no matter the occasion, whether in an
explosion scene or a gun fight he is always in very manly and very cool
poses. This is where Brother Wa's charm lies! No wonder he is known as
the 'frozen age god'. With his excellent acting he absolutely can elevate
the quality of a movie." Ng Won Lung praised, "We actors admire Brother
Wa very much. We would pay attention to his every move to learn,
especially how he holds a gun. He is particularly cool!"
The 14th Asian Summer Film Festival earlier took place in
Vic, near Barcelona, Spain. The film festival saluted Hong Kong martial
art stars and selected the Kara Wai Ying Hung starred MY YOUNG AUNTIE
and MRS. K. Sister Hung also with MRS. K and her years of continuous
effort received the festival's honorary award Lucky Cat Honor Award.
This time the Asian Summer Film Festival was thoughtful with its
selection. MY YOUNG AUNTIE was a 1981 action comedy that was Lau Ka Leung
written, directed and starred. Wai Ying Hung was the lead actress and
even won the 1st Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress; as for MRS. K, it
was Ho Yuhang directed it and will officially open in Hong Kong this fall.
It will be Wai Ying Hung's final martial art action film.
Recognized overseas again, Sister Hung happily said, "In recent
years I rarely took martial art action films. Among all the action
actors, I am very happy to still be able to be recognized by the jury and
fans! This time with MRS. K I got to work with AT THE END OF DAYBREAK
director Ho Yuhang for the third time and felt very right, because we
understood each other very well and trusted each other very much. Although
the process was tough, I was very pleased with MRS. K. I thought that it
was a perfect 'end' to my action film life."

The film KEYBOARD WARRIORS (HEI DAI JO) yesterday held
its production start worship ceremony. Actors Stephy Tang Lai Yun, Grace
Chan Hoi Lam, Lam Yiu Sing, and Larine Tang Yueping attended. Stephy and
Chan Hoi Lam played sisters. She stated that during costume fitting when
she stood next to Grace she immediately became a giant. Thus she had to
lose weight first.
Stephy played a female cop on a case and would have many street
chases. She said that she was a little worried about shooting such scenes
in the heat of August, because earlier she went out alone, suddenly
suffered from heat stroke and almost fainted. She believed that during
the shoot she would have to rely on drinking more water to replenish her
energy. Playing her sister, Chan Hoi Lam said, "Then I would carry two
fans next to you!" Stephy honestly said that now she has started to
prepare for her diet, because during costume fitting she stood next to
Grace and turned into a giant. Even though she would not wear anything
revealing in the film she still would lose weight first. Grace said that
she should instead gain weight herself. She would have fewer action
scenes and would only wear high fashion and heels for her performance.
She would have to leave the running to her "sister". Was she afraid that
the audience would typecast her in gold digging characters? Grace said,
I have played many roles in different series before, this time indeed will
be a new attempt. It will also be my firs movie. I am a little nervous.
Before the shoot we have had table reads, we know what method we will use
to perform." Grace said that she asked her boyfriend Kevin Cheng Ka Wing
for advice, but she could ask Stephy because she had a lot of experience.
Stephy joked that actually she was a new comer too.
Her former boyfriend Alex Fong Lik Sun mentioned that while on
vacation with Stephy the feeling was like sneaking around. Stephy said
that she talked about this subject in previous interviews and travel
program before. She said that she did not read about it and did not have
any special feeling. Was she already numb to Siu Fong? Stephy shrug her
shoulders and said, "Friends, I hope we can be friends. However the
feeling is actually pretty strange. I don't know how to describe it
either. I hope everyone would focus on my work and not mention this
anymore!"
Tang Yueping played a Mongkok girl in the film. Her make up was
very exaggerated and she had suitable sexy performance. In the film she
would be swindled people out of money and love, she said that in real
life she had no chance to fool anyone, so in the film she played tricks
on toxic guy Lam Yiu Sing.

The 54th Golden Horse Awards will take place on November
25th. The Golden Horse Executive Committee announced this year its
Lifetime Achievement Award will go to veteran Taiwan actress Hsu Feng.
The two time Golden Horse Best Actress also won Golden Horse Awards and
Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or with her film company's films. In recent
years she even actively supported classic film restoration. Hsu Feng
said, "First I want to thank the Golden Horse Awards for recognizing me.
This would also urge me to return to produce films soon, which would be my
best thank you to the Golden Horse Awards."
The Stephen Fung Tak Lun directed, Andy Lau Tak Wa produced
and starred THE ADVENTURERS (HUP DOH LUEN MUN) will be released on the
24th. In the latest production special, Lau Tak Wa talked about working
with Shu Qi in THE ADVENTURERS. "Each time I see her I feel certain
affinity." Director Fung Tak Lun even stated, "Yip Hung (Shu Qi's role)
is a very, very important character, with a lot of changes -- short hair,
long hair, glasses, no glasses......" Shu Qi also said that this
character was very different from her past characters. "I didn't play
her like an ice queen." She was livelier and more mischievous.
Actually, Shu Qi in the film had both brawn and brains -- a fully
charming, ever changing, beautiful thief who held her own with Tony Yang's
character; they were not only happy rivals, Tony Yang played a genius
hacker who was a little silly. As he fully displayed his fun and agile
side, he received universal praise from the cast and he crew alike. Fung
Tak Lun also praised him for being very focused, casting him in this
hacker role was absolutely the correct choice.
