The film WAKESURF LOVERS (LONG FA NAM NUI) held its premiere the evening before. Chan Ching Yi has worn swimsuits for the Miss Hong Kong Pageant, but it was her first appearance in a swimsuit in a film. Due to how easily wardrobe malfunction would take place during water skiing, she took all the safety precautions in advance. However she said that she could completely accept wearing swimsuits for a sports themed film, it was also her personal limit. If she would make a beauty pageant movie, she would not mind appearing in a swimsuit again. Chan Ching Yi said that she hoped to be able to make more movies, she also wanted o try becoming an action actress. Currently she was in negotiation for a television series.

The Cine Fan Summer International Film Festival was officially opened last night, with the opening film being the Hong Kong premiere of South Korean director Na Hong-jin's sci-fi suspense thriller HOPE. The 50th Hong Kong International Film Festival Ambassadors Angela Yuen Lai Lam and Tony Wu Tsz Tung attended the event. During the group photo, Director Na Hong-jin greeted everyone in Cantonese "Hello everyone" and made a heart pose with the two ambassadors.

The Chen Yu-Hsun directed, Caitlin Fang, Will Or Wai Lam, Tseng Jin Hua starred Taiwanese film A FOGGY TALE won four awards last year for Best Feature Film, Original Screenplay, Art Design, and Costume Design at the 62nd Golden Horse Awards. This year A FOGGY TALE won five major awards at the Taipei Film Awards, including Best Feature Film and Screenplay, and was also selected to participate in multiple international film festivals. Yesterday Taiwan's Ministry of Culture announced that after discussions in the selection meeting, A FOGGY TALE was recommended to represent Taiwan in the competition for Best International Film award nomination at the 99th Academy Awards.

The 63rd Golden Horse Awards ceremony announced yesterday that it would be held on November 22nd at the Taipei Music Center, with the nominee for Best Actor with A FOGGY TALE, Or Wai Lam, taking over as host. The official Golden Horse Awards social media released a promotional video. The two led actors Siuyea Lo Chun Yip, Rachel Leung Yung Ting, Renci Yeung Sze Wing, Crystal Cheung Man Ka and Kearen pang Sau Wai to attend. For the upcoming release of the film, Lo Chun Yip who played a private chef joked that it felt like a restaurant opening and cutting ribbon. He was very happy to have everyone's support. Chow Sing Chi accepted rare interviews with local television stations. Some online through the program host's seating arrangement determined the differences from the details. STAR WEEKLY's Lai Chi Shan sat to the side and left the main character halo and interaction space to the guests. Sing Yeh, Carina Lau Ka Ling sat in he middle and chatted like old friends; on THE POPCORN SHOW Kok Tak Chiu sat in he middle, and some online felt that he resembled an examination proctor.

The two programs' atmosphere was also different. Chi Shan worked with Sing Yeh on 430 SPACE SHUTTLE and has known him for over 40 years. With the "assist" from Lau Ka Ling, the topic aside from KUNG FU SOCER also had many strokes of genius. For example Ka Ling suggested for her husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Sing Yeh to team up again and host 430 SPACE SHUTTER. Sing Yeh responded "Nothing is impossible" but asked for the original team to perform. Aside from Chi Shan and Tam Yuk Ying, he also wanted Cheung Kwok Keung to help. Ka Ling also revealed that Sing Yeh and Wai Jai collaborated on a short film before entering the business, and jokingly asked Sing Yeh where the film was hidden. Some praised online, "Lai Chi Shan complete victory! Only those who have known each other for a long can chat like this!" Some also dug out the 1985 English song duet video of Chi Shan and Sing Yeh and brought back collective memories.

As for THE POPCORN SHOW, Kok Tak Chiu interviewed the KUNG FU SOCCER team and focused on the film topic. He was accused of being too cautious and said too much to flatter Sing Yeh. Some online also felt that Kok Tak Chiu's interview content had professional analysis. In addition, another guest screenwriter Ho Wing Suen (Miss Hunny) was also criticized. Some commented, "After 30 years we finally got Chow Sing Chi on a television interview, is the woman done? Sing Yeh once explained that due to time he was not unable to produce a Cantonese version of KUNG FU OCCER, which turned into a "hot topic" online about "who is this movie made for" and some said "No." Kok Tak Chiu after the program aired through social platform shared his experience. "My conclusion is, I like KUN FU OCCER. I personally feel it is a very highly creative film, inspired my own future creative direction. I also admired Director Chow's new attempt, of course you too have your reasons to dislike it, to each its own. The general public audience, if you feel it is attractive then go to the cinema to support it, if not then you wouldn't even watch it on television. If after paying for a ticket you realize that it's not for you, you can find the exit and curse it a few time for properly release. Watching a movie originally is just entertainment, there is no need to vomit 19 or 20 ounces of blood. It's a free society, if you like it, you like it, if you don't, don't play it no mind. It's no big deal, and there is no need for personal attack. May everyone have a childlike heart, lightly and casually, happily and curiously look at the world."

As for Kok Tak Chiu's strong recommendation of KUNG FU SOCCER, online comments were mixed. Some said that they supported him, but some found that Kok Tak Chiu's social platform comment was different in tone from his radio program ON A CLEAR DAY. They cited that KOK on CLEAR criticized people online were wrong for feeling like KUNG FU SOCCER was "not made for Hong Kong people", feeling that people saying "no" online were strange. They even said that his example of THE ODYSSEY was not suitable. They also said hat Kok Tak Chiu's comments on radio seemed to be "criticizing people online who don't like/don't buy tickets to see KUNG FU SOCCER were ignorant/unfair/don't know about movies. I feel what you say on the radio program is very upsetting, and seems to be emotional extortion from you."

Kok Tak Chiu responded to the comment. "I didn't say who is right or wrong, I have said to open your heart to look at the world, I have said that if for certain reason you say 'no', I worry that you are the ones would lose ut. (I love the Hong Kong youth generation). With good movies like THE LYCHEE ROAD, FULL RIVER RED, HER STORY why not try to watch them? I have said was THE ODYSEEY made for Hong Kong? It's not a comparison, just a discussion."

The film company yesterday released the latest poster and trailer. The story in a light and humorous manner puts the father and daughter highway journey on display.

Cheung Ka Fai said that from working in GOOD he successfully unlocked many firsts, including Wong Yi Lam as the youngest director he has worked with and the first female director. He also worked on his first highway movie. In his impression Wong Yi Lam and Wong Hoi were both intellectual youth directors, he would have never guessed that they both were very hardcore. He was referring to the use of the story and not the visual, as the two's invested very deep feelings into the roles.

The Stephen Chow Sing Chi written and directed film KUNG FU SOCCER (GONG FU NUI JOOK) starred Carina Lau Ka Ling, Zhang Xiaofei, Dilraba, Lay Zhang Yixing, Sisley Choi Si Bui, etcs. After over a month in release in the mainland the film has collected over 2.2 billion RMB (around HK$ 2.6 billion). The film two days ago officially opened in Hong Kong. The first day audience response was not overwhelming, with a box office of around 1.1 million. With the earlier advanced screenings the film collected 1.4 million. In comparison to Chow Sing Chi's preious film, NEW KING OF COMEDY was released 7 years ago on February 5th 2019 (Lunar New Year's Day) for the Hong Kong Lunar New Year film slot, invited Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi and Fama to provide their voices to the Cantonese version. The opening day box office was around 3.5 million, the cumulative Hong Kong box office was around 21.97 million and the film was the four highest grossing Chinese film in Hong Kong in 2019.

Lau Ka Lng recently talked about her role in KUNG FU SOCCER, which did not feel difficulty at all. She wanted to ask why was she kept from playing soccer on the field? If there would be a sequel she would like to. If there was a chance for her Best Actor husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Stephen Chow Sing Chi to perform together, what kind of movie would it be? She asked instead whether it was possible? If it was it would be a very exciting film that would be well worth everyone to look forward to. Stephen Chow Sing Chi after many years wrote and directed KUNG FU SOCCER (GONG FU NUI JOOK), which collected 2.2 billion RMB (around HK$ 2.5 billion) and reached the top of the mainland 2026 summer box office. However the audience reviews have been polarized. KUNG FU SOCCER yesterday opened in Hong Kong, with over 270 shows all day. Reporters visited cinemas to observe admission and the response was not too enthusiastic, as no show was sold out. Marvel's superhero film SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY exceeded HK$ 75 million at the Hong Kong box office, with almost twice as many shows as KUNG FU SOCCER. With strong competition, KUNG FU SOCCER's box office might very likely be impacted. Hong Kong audience's review for KUNG FU SOCCER has been mixed. Chow Sing Chi's die hard fans admitted that they were not too pleased, with few punchlines and the Putonghua dialogue gave them difficulties in getting invested; Gen Z viewers felt that for a comedy it was still funny, the matches were exciting.

Chow Sing Chi recently has been actively promoting KUNG FU SOCCER. After completing the mainland tour, earlier he led Carina Lau Ka Ling, Dilraba, Sisley Choi Si Bui, Louis Cheung Kai Chung, the new generation "Sing Girl" Xue Yue, Angel Woo and Lam Tsz Chung to attend the KUNG FU SOCCER Hong Kong audience appreciation screenings and premiere to promote.

KUNG FU SOCCER opened in Hong Kong yesterday. The audience seemed less passionate than with previous Chow Sing Chi films. With over 270 shows, none were sold out. In contrast after two weeks in release SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY had over 480 shows, as of 7PM last night it has collected HK$ 75 million. Its momentum continued to be strong and many shows were almost sold out.

With less shows than SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY, KUNG FU SOCCER sold half the tickets at most of its show. Reporters visited cinemas yesterday afternoon for observation, KUNG FU SOCCER's momentum obviously paled in comparison to its mainland opening. Aside from not selling out every show, most of the audience were middle aged and older. By the afternoon evening shows only sold a fraction of its tickets. At night the situation improved, with many sold half its tickets or more.

Ms. Lo yesterday afternoon brought her 9 year old little brother to the show, saying the reason was only the subject was soccer and not supporting Chow Sing Chi. "Because we are free, Little Brother likes to play soccer so I take him to watch it. I was born in 2006, so I haven't really seen Chow Sing Chi's movies and I am not a Chow Sing Chi fan. In the film I only recognize lead actresses Zhang Xiaofei and Dilraba because I have seen their work. I see many older people come to watch the movie, they probably are Chow Sing Chi fans." She felt that for a comedy, it was still funny. The most impressive was the final match. "Very exciting, and Takeru Satoh is really very handsome."

Unwilling to appear on camera, Mr. Chan admitted that he bought tickets because of Chow Sing Chi. He has been a Chow Sing Chi fan for years and admitted that he was not too pleased with this work of his idol. Few spots made him laugh in the film, and Putonghua made the movie difficult for him to get invested in.

Aside from the mainland and Macau, KUNG FU SOCCER is opening around the world in almost 30 countries and regions. They included Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, the U.S., England and Canada. On the 6th it opened in Singapore to over HK$ 11 million, many shows were sold out and the performance was decent.
