The 10th anniversary of Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing's memorial events have come to an end but troubles just started for Gor Gor's manager Chaun Suk Fun. A magazine claimed that her two memorial concerts and the television, radio and online broadcast right fees, and souvenir sales made HK$20 million. The article even pointed out that attending singers each only received HK$10,000 and had to pay for their own make up and hair costs.
Chan Suk Fun yesterday said, "I feel I don't need to respond to such targeted rumors, earlier in order for everyone to understand the memorial event contents more, I accepted the interview. Now the memorial events have come to perfect ends, no one should come out and say more. Otherwise it would become a personal promotion."
Speaking of the symbolic salaries that the singers who performed that night received, Chan Suk Fun said, "Everyone gave their hearts and love to give a 10th anniversary gift to Gor Gor. If they wanted money, all the money in the world might not be able to get them all. Don't use money to measure each singer and behind the scene worker's respect for Gor Gor." As for the rumored over HK$10 million left from the concert broadcast fee, Chan Suk Fun asked, "Is that possible? I strictly selected specific media for the broadcast mainly because we had to ask the videos or content owner to loan them for editing. Thus I had to protect other people's copyrights."
One of the guest performers Vivian Chow Wai Man said through her manager, after the performance that night she immediately sent a text message to Chan Suk Fun to thank her for giving her an opportunity to salute Gor Gor. She was very satisfied and pleased with the event arrangements.
