[2012.01.06] TANG WEI IS NOT USED TO WEARING A DRESS

Tang Wei in the just released film SPEED ANGELS (GIK CHOOK TIN SI) played a "tom boy" driver.  However director Jingle Ma Chor Sing pointed out that the intricate emotional scene at a wedding was much more difficult than the racing scene.

From the still, Tang Wei was dressed in white and very femininely.  She joked that she was not used to it.  "Normally the racing suits were very loose.  In the wedding scene I wore a very elegant white dress that could rival the bride's gown.  Because my character was more tomboyish, she normally wouldn't wear a dress!"

The film THE GREAT MAGICIAN (DAI MOR SHOOK SI) held a premiere last night.  Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Lau Ching Wan, Zhou Xun and Derek Yee Tung Sing attended.  Carina Lau Ka Ling came in support of her husband Wai Jai.  Recently Lau Ka Ling was rumored to have purchased a 30 million yuan home for her husband.  Wai Jai said that he had no idea.  Although the gift has not arrived in his hands, old lady Lau Ka Ling's "flesh delivery" of love and company for the movie already melted him.

When asked about the gift, Wai Jai asked whether it was a surprise.  Perhaps the reporters ruined it, but he really had no idea.  Wai Jai said that Ka Ling has always had properties in Shanghai, maybe she just switched homes or bought one for Mommy.  The Shanghai home would be useless to him since he would not move to Shanghai.

Wai Jai said that normally he would exchange gifts with Ka Ling for fun, especially on holidays or birthdays.  Last month for Ka Ling's birthday he gave her a thoughtful gift that all women liked.  If he received the 30 million home would he return the favor?  He joked, "How can that be possible, don't be silly!  Stop testing me."

This Lunar New Year he might be in Hong Kong, with work on hand he had concerns despite wanting to go skiing.  He has not gone in two years already and he really wanted to go.  Wai Jai still had Wong Kar Wai's THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) to work on.  He looked awkward when asked about this film as he added that it will wrap soon.

Speaking of Andy Lau Tak Wa's impending fatherhood, would Wai Jai catch up in a hurry?  He said that it was up to nature, including whether he would accept artificial insemination.  He said that having a child could not be rushed, it was not like all he had to do was wish and it would be granted.  He wanted to win the lottery too!

Lau Ching Wan and Yee Tung Sing rushed from Shanghai to promote.  They were working on the film SIU SUT DIK JI DAN in the Mainland.  Speaking of his good friend Daniel Wu (Ng Yu Cho)'s good news as his wife Lisa S was rumored to be pregnant, Yee Tung Sing said that he immediately sent a congratulation text to him as soon as he heard, but Ng Yin Cho said that it was not true.  Yee Tung Sing was disappointed as he thought a little Daniel would definitely be very cute.  Some suggested for Yee Tung Sing to have his own as Lau Tak Wa too would become a father.  He said, "Wa Jai is younger than me!  I don't know if I can."

THE GREAT MAGICIAN is the first film that he directed in the Mainland.  He hoped that a comedy in the New Year would be suitable to Mainland viewer taste.  He was also adjusting to work in the Mainland.  Would he head north and stop making Hong Kong films? Yee Tung Sing really wanted to make a Hong Kong film, but finding a film investor in Hong Kong was hard.  If he found someone it would only be for 10 million small production.  He did not want to make it hard for his actor friends and ask them to lower their salaries to make his movies.

Laughing Gor Michael Tse Tin Wa again jumped from television to the big screen as the film TURNING POINT 2 (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN) followed the television series LIVES OF OMISSION (CHIM HUNG JUI GIK)'s story.  Laughing after murdering So Sing Pak was found guilty and
sent to prison, then another undercover mission began.  Tse Tin Wa in the film had many scenes with the Francis Ng Chun Yu played Professor.  The card scene near the end was unforgettable for him.

Tse Tin Wa praised Chun Yu's performance as unforgettable to him even now.  "When Chun Yu took his mark for the first scene, his interpretation was completely different from what I imagined.  His interpretation to me had an impact on me, stimulated my thinking and gave me a sense of freshness."  TURNING POINT 2 was the only Hong Kong film release during the New Year slot, which made Tse Tin wa feel very proud.  Would he like its box office to be better than TURNING POINT (BIN JIT)?  He said, "I never thought about it.  If I think like that, I would have stress."  Would he work on another series about Laughing?  The audience and TVB would decide.

Kate Tsui Tsz Shan went from LIVES OF OMISSION's smart lawyer to TURNING POINT 2's mental patient.  The characters differed drastically.  She said, "I rather enjoyed playing a mental patient, the character had potential.  The only bad part was the shoot was too rushed."  She recalled her first scene was when she learned that So Sing Pak was dead and she collapsed from crying.  It was completely just as the sun rose and she only had two opportunities.  It was dangerously close but luckily it was completed.  "I only had two chances to make this scene good.  I had to cry until I collapsed, the stress was tremendous and it was very tragic!  I at first thought only the first day of work would be like that, but later many important scenes were just like that too.  Even so, I still enjoyed the production process.  The outside response has been very positive too and I felt comforted."

The film TURNING POINT 2 (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN) two nights ago held promotions at two Mongkok cinemas.  Michael Tse Tin Wa, MC Jin and William Chak Wai Lim promoted as they gave away sugar canes.

The film after a week in release made 5 million.  Tse Tin Wa was very satisfied with this performance but he still did not have time to go himself.  Did he feel avenged?  Tin Wa said that he could not say that but it made a dent for Hong Kong film and proved that Hong Kong people still supported Hong Kong films.

Mag Lam Yun Tung, Michelle Wai (Si Nga), Jeana Ho Pui Yu, Eva Lai Yin San and Mr. two nights ago attended their new film HEI SAI YIU GWUN wrap banquet.  Jeana said that she was saving the sexy dress for the premiere and already had an idea on the look.

Although the film already wrapped, Jeana suggested to the director a band scene in the love scene with her and Dash because she has never tried it before.  However both the director and Dash rejected her suggestion.  Dash pointed out that the bed was too soft to jam on and the director said that he would wait until the LAN KWAI FONG (HEI OI YEH PO) film series.  Was Jeana addicted to love scenes?  She said, "No, I just want to try something different.  I want to play a lesbian too."  She also said that actually in the film she and Dash had very few intimate scenes because in the story they have already been dating for 8 or 9 years.  However while working with Mr. she saw their passion for music, which made her interested in forming a girl band.  Would she work on LAN KWAI FONG 2?  She said that she would only participate in the film's casting but instead would participate in LAN KWAI FONG 3.  Because she was responsible for casting for the first time, she asked the candidates not to be too nervous, to relax and it would be the best if their figures were not better than hers.

This film was Mag's first lead role.  She played romantic rivals with Si Nga.  They both liked Mr.'s Alan but finally Mag won.  Was Mag very sassy with her boyfriend?  She said, "Sometimes, sometimes I would be sassy and sometimes I wouldn't care.  However I wouldn't hit my boyfriend.  Actually with couples acting up a little wasn't anything major.  The most important is not to turn it into an argument."  This year she plans to focus on music.  Even if she made more money from making movies she still liked to sing.  Si Nga in the film played a single mother for the first time and had a five year old daughter.  It was a challenge for her acting.  However she remembered to praise Mag's acting.  In one drunk scene Mag did not feel well but her performance was still very convincing.

ROMANCING IN THIN AIR (GO HOI BUT JI LUEN II) will be released during Valentine's Day.  The film company has always used a snowy scenery as a poster theme.  For Louis Koo Tin Lok and Sammi Cheng Sau Man who lived in the thin air deep mountains for two months, the snow was even more memorable because when snow fell in Shangri-La, the temperature was 20 degrees Celsius below zero.

Sammi kept looking forward to snow though.  "yet waiting for snow was very tough.  Everyday we stared at the sky, but I thought the longer I looked forward to it the more feeling it had.  Waiting was a process, I would enjoy it."  Sammi spoke so romantically because while shooting in the snow most of the time she did not need to move as most of the time she fainted.  In the film Goo Jai had to carry her out of the forest.

When Goo Jai talked about this scene he made it so very easy, but actually the crew all worried for him.  Because in Shangri-La even quiet breathing was somewhat difficult, Goo Jai even had to exercise, carry Sammi and run in the forest.  The crew was afraid that Goo Jai would have breathing difficulties.  Goo Jai said to everyone, "What are you afraid of?  Sammi isn't even 100 pounds, carrying her is very easy.  You don't have to worry so much!"  However, easy might be easy.  After each shot when Goo Jai put Sammi down, Sammi still made fun of him, "You say it's very easy, you are all out of breath!"

Deep Ng Ho Hong guest starred in the film THE VIRAL FACTOR (YIK JIN) and even flew to Kuala Lumpur for the shoot.  Aside from a series of scenes with Nicholas Tse Ting Fung he was also beaten into a bloody pulp.

In this scene that was shot in an abandoned bus maintenance ground near Kuala Lumpur.  As Ting Fung's subordinate Ng Ho Hong was beat into a pulp after selling out Ting Fung.  Not only was his busted open, he even had to be stuffed into a narrow trunk of a car.  Ting Fung said, "This time is the fourth time I work with Deep.  He is a serious actor.  Malaysia's climate is hot and humid, I not only beat Deep beyond recognition, but also stuff him into a car trunk.  Everyone can imagine how tough it is."  Aside from working with Deep, Ting Fung also had fight scenes with several thugs and was even rammed into a concrete wall.  The loud and violent sounds from the fight left many in a cold sweat.

Director Dante Lam Chiu Yin joked that Deep's guest starring was an enormous "sacrifice".  "When the entire film was completed, Deep was trapped in the car trunk for almost eight hours.  He was covered in sweat and stank all over and his face was full of blood.  Nothing was left of his handsome image."
