Michelle Wai Sze Nga appeared the night before to thank the audience. She said that her fiancé cried when he watched her work and later thanked her more for "exorcizing" him. She sweetly said that he has always taken her tantrums in stride. The single-day box office of THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) in Hong Kong and Macao collected more than HK$ 7.4 million, setting a new opening day box office record in Hong Kong film history and exceeding HK$ 10 million already in the morning yesterday.

The Emperor Motion Picture THE LAST DANCE (POR. DEI YUK) opened with a bang when it was officially released the day before yesterday. Its opening day box office in Hong Kong and Macao was HK$ 7,422,147, surpassing TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) to become the Hong Kong film opening day box office champion. Director Anselm Chan Mou Yin led actors Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Rachel Leung Wing Ting and Rosa Velasco (Wai Law Sa) to thank the audience in batches for a total of 33 performances, and opened bottles of champagne to celebrate the box office success. As of 8pm last night, together with the earlier priority screening the cumulative box office has exceeded 15 million. The film will be released in Malaysia and Taiwan later.

Once said to be the "box office poison", Dayo Wong Tze Wah in recent years has successfully turned around to become the "box office miracle drug". His films TABLE FOR SIX (FAN HEI GUNG SUM) and A GUILTY CONSCIENCE (DUK SIT DAI JONG) made HK$ 77 million and HK$ 115 million at the box office respectively. The latter even became the Hong Kong Chinese language film box office champion. This year's release TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN made HK$ 170 million in Hong Kong and only came in second. Now THE LAST DANCE has already achieved good results with its opening box office and has hopes to set the cumulative box office record.

Tze Wah is rehearsing for a play and thus two nights ago was unable to attend the audience appreciation events at cinemas, but he could not hide his joy and expressed it in words that Wai Sze Nga read at the event. "The feeling of being able to break the record is very wonderful. I believe the success of the film is because it is able to bring the wonderful feeling to the audience. I hope this wonderful journey can go even further and even more wonderful."

In the sharing session after the movie, Michelle got teary eyed for awhile. She said that the audience's sharing moved her. She pointed out that the audience would smile again soon after watching the movie, which was very cute. Did she cried at every audience appreciation show? Wai Sze Nga said no, but the most memorable time was a 10 year old boy who watched the movie twice. This child even asked her about her character, only after thinking about the role for a week. Sze Nga felt that the question had very good quality, and the child was very please with her explanation. "The child really likes movies. I believe in the future he would be the pillar of the film industry." She revealed that even her rational fiancé cried hard when he watched the premiere. "The most amazing thing is that after a few days, he was still thinking about a plot. He felt that it exorcized him, and said thank you very much to me. My heart ached at the moment. (Will he be nicer to you from now on?) He's already been nice enough to me! My personality changed a little when I was making the movie, and he took a lot of tantrums from me. When he saw our success, he congratulated us just now." He even promised her that he would watch a few more times. For the movie to break the opening day box office record, was she confident that it will break the record for Chinese language films? She admitted that she did not dare to think about that, as the credit for the good results belonged to the team and the audience.

As for Wai Law Sa, she said that she rushed to thank the audience with the director just now. She learned good news about the box office on the way, and said that the director kept receiving congratulatory text messages but remained calm. Her own social media also received a lot of Mama class messages, praising her touching role. She said that she may have more Mama fans because of this, and revealed that her husband German Cheung Ming Yiu once helped Michelle make up the performing arts lessons and discussed the script. She was happy that her husband participated in it. Leung Yung Ting faced the audience for the first time this time, felt that the audience exorcizing their own pain, and saw many viewers moved to tears because of the movie. Leung Yung Ting said that her boyfriend and the director have known each other for a very long time. She said that she has started working with the film team since READY O/R KNOT (BUT YUT SING FUN), so she was very happy. From the performance to the production wrap she kept sharing the film's production process with her boyfriend, so he has seen it many times as well.
