The 25th New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) will be held from the 10th to the 26th next month. As the film festival will enter into its silver anniversary, this year the festival will bring together hundreds of premieres and classics from all over Asia. The event even recently announced that the "Lifetime Achievement Award" will be presented to veteran actress Joan Chen. During the festival, two sets of films starring her will be shown as tributes. Meanwhile Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho) will receive the "Asia Star Award: Best from the East Award" in recognition of his contribution to the Asian and international film industry and make bold attempts. His film COLD WAR 1994 (HONG JIN 1994) has been selected for the film festival's official screening line up.
As for the Stephen Fung Tak Lun, Chrissie Chau Sau Na and Myolie Wu Hung Yi starred new film AFTERPIECE (DAI SEI MOK) has also been invited to participate in the festival, its star Angela Yuen Lai Lam would also be awarded the "Screen International Rising Star", while the Best Actress Fish Liew Chi Yu starred, Mak Tin Shu directed DOG DAY EVENING (YUT GOR BO MOON DIK DAN SUN) was selected for the "Uncaged Competition section".
