The Emperor's 2027 Year of the Sheep Lunar New Year feature TASTE OF JOY (SIK JU SEUNG) recently held a worship ceremony. Chairman of the Emperor Group Dr. Albert Yeung Yau Sing personally led the group of the main creators and star-rated cast in attendance, and wished faithfully for the smooth shoot. Guests included director Andy Lo (Law Yiu Fai), producer Anselm Chan Mou Yin, Emperor Motion Pictures COO Cecil Yow Hon Hung and the CEO of Emperor Entertainment Mani Fok Man Hei; leading stars Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin (Ah Sa), Raymond Lam Fung, together with Tommy Chu Pak Hong (Chu Hong), Nancy Wu Ting Yan, Natalie Hsu (Hui Yan Yi), and member of the popular girl group VIVA Carina Lee Hei Tung, Angus Yeung Tin Yue, etc. Stars filled the scene and the Lunar New Year film excitement was on full display.

TASTE OF JOY would combine food, family, friendship, love and urban humor into one. Ah Sa would play the sharp tongued and spicy top food critic who would collide with the Lam Fung played chef and set off sparks. The two of them took cooking lessons for the film. Lam Fung even cut the roasted pig on the spot, and his knife work was heavy. Ah Sa said she has heard the story two years ago and felt that the character was very suitable for herself and has been looking forward to it. She believed that the most important thing in the Lunar New Year would be to be happy and lucky in the coming year. Lam Fung agreed that the shooting process has also been very happy. Because of numerous actors, the film would have many subplots. The last time he played a chef was his first work more than 20 years ago. We must not only make the audience hungry from watching, but also make everyone laugh without a care. I hope that this film will become everyone's "Happy New Year Poon Choy" in Lunar New Year 2027, accompanying all Hong Kong people to "eat the trend, rise against the current", and happily have a big fat year!" The film TASTE OF JOY is currently already in production and would in all Hong Kong cinemas for Lunar New Year 2027.

She admitted that she was considering a several minute long couple's first dance at the wedding, but she still has not have the time to deal with it. She has been looking forward to Stanley's flower arrangement performance and declaration of love. The "baby making" plan would be up to nature. Because Stanley has work, they would not expect to be on their honeymoon until next year.

Renci Yeung Sze Wing has been busy with audience appreciation events for several movies. Attending the label event yesterday, she admitted that although she has been busy she rather enjoyed it. Her favorite was the question and answer interactions with the live audience. For the upcoming Mid Autumn Festival, she revealed that she would continue to thank the audiences hard. Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Chung Suet Ying and Yoyo Mung Ka Wai starred in the comedy film GOOD TRIP (NGOR AH DEH SEUNG LUI HUNG), which held a film launch ceremony the night before. Cheung Ka Fai even personally drove the family car in the film, carrying his on screen "wife" Mung Ka Fai and "daughter" Chung Suet Ying and attracting a large number of people to look on.

The new film would open for the Mid Autumn Festival. After years away from movies, Mung Ka Wai said that she did not know about the "rule" of Hong Kong audience appreciation activities so she has already booked flights to return to work in Japan. Cheung Ka Fai said that he would be willing to pay for the flight to invite her and her husband Dior Cheng Ekin to promote and thank the audience together, and Mung Ka Wai agreed right away. I have tracked down the genealogy, neither my old man nor Ma's side has no problems so I am more at ease."

Mung Ka Wai said that she and Cheung Ka Fai played a couple, revealing that for the wedding photo flashback scene she worked with what she had. She discovered "self medical aesthetics" special effect make up that could make her thinner and younger in seconds. "I used tape to pull up my chin on both sides, hiding a lot of fat that came out. The result was great, and I looked much younger than I am now."

GOOD TRIP would open for the Mid Autumn Festival. Cheung Ka Fai said that he would definitely buy tickets to watch with his wife Esther Kwan Wing Ho and support the film. Mung Ka Wai admitted that she would invite her husband Ekin Cheng to support the film, but due to years away from film she did not know about the audience appreciation trend that was popular currently. Mung Ka Wai praised co-star Yau Sze Chun as handsome. Was Ekin Cheng or Yau Sze Chun more handsome? Mung Ka Wai joked, "Stanley is so young, how could they compare?" Cheung Ka Fai also praised another co-star Yeung Nga Man (THAIMAY) for her dance scene and amazing flexibility, from afar she looked like a "spirit medium". Chung Suet Ying also agreed Yau Sze Chun was tall and friendly, just what she was looking for in a mate. She joked, "Does anyone have any recommendation?" Cheung Ka Fai suggested for Chung Suet Ying to take the initiative and pursue Yau Sze Chun, but when he learned that he was already "closed" and about to wed, he joked, "An affair would be pretty exciting too!" Has he thought about that? Cheung Ka Fai joked, "Hey, I wouldn't dare. I would be the worst at that!"

Chung Suet Ying and Cheung Ka Fai in the film had to speak Japanese. Cheung Ka Fai said that he relied on memorizing the dialogues without know what they meant. Chung Suet Ying said that she only said a few lines in Japanese and they were not too hard to handle. The driving scene was the greatest challenge, since she only got her driver's license after two or three tries before hand. "For one test I ran into black rainstorm warning and had to cancel the road test. The shoot was only a few weeks away, luckily in the end I was able to successfully pass the make up test in time." Mung Ka Wai revealed that many years ago she worked on a driving scene without a license. Now of course that would not happen.

In addition, after Koo Tin Lok's concert earlier, many hoped Cheung Ka Fai would perform concerts. The night before when Ka Fai was asked whether he would like to perform any concert, he joked, "I seem to start around the same time as (Eason) Chan Yik Shun, earlier than Ekin Cheng! The Juno Mak Chun Lung directed, Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo, Sean Lau Ching Wan, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Gao Yuanyuan and other starred film SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT (FUNG LUM FOR SHAN) would represent Hong Kong in the "Best International Film" competition for a nomination of the 99th Academy Awards. The Hong Kong selection committee already selected from the Hong Kong films released from October last year to September this year, and SONS eventually accounted for the majority of the votes.

Costing HK$ 400 million SONS after 8 years in May last year premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in France. The Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Chung Suet Ying starred new film GOOD TRIP (NGOR AH DEH SEUNG LUI HUNG) will open next month. Director Norris Wong Yi Lam and Wong Hoi two nights ago appeared at the press screening to share their production experience. Wong Yi Lam said that the script came from the passing of her own Papa, but back then she has yet to think of from what angle. No matter how much she wrote she was not pleased, so she once dropped it to write THE LYRICIST WANNABE (TIN CHI L) first. Each MIRROR member have been busy with their own tasks. Yesterday Stanley Yau Sze Chun attended the premiere of 'THE AGE OF GOODBYES' at the 'Special Screening' section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival. His first appearance at an international film festival brought support from Hong Kong fans. Yau Sze Chun revealed that one of the biggest challenges for the film was the accent, with continuous language training before and during filming. Group mate Edan Lui Cheuk On attended an event yesterday with Kitty Yuen Siu Yee, and according to rumors he would star in a sequel to 'CHILLI LAUGH STORY (HOP GA LAT),' which will be released during next year's Lunar New Year season. Lui Cheuk On has not heard about this and will consult producer Sandra Ng Kwan Yu for confirmation. Busy filming the Hong Kong version of "LONG VACATION," he revealed that the shoot would wrap up at the end of October and preparations for the MIRROR concert will begin in November. If he would really make a New Year film, he would be willing to sacrifice sleep time.

Yesterday Yau Sze Chun attended the premiere of 'THE AGE OF GOODBYES' at the Toronto International Film Festival yesterday with Vivian Sung and Lixuan Siow, and director Edmund Yeo. The group dressed up for the red carpet. Yau Sze Chun walked the red carpet at an international film festival for the first time, with Hong Kong fans flying there to show their support. He revealed that it would be his first time watching 'THE AGE OF GOODBYES' on the big screen, and he described the work as very beautiful and inspiring. "One of my biggest challenges for me was the accent. Besides Mandarin and Cantonese, the Chinese dialogues had to convey a Malaysian Chinese accent that matched the story's time and character's background. From before filming to during the shoot, I received continuous language training." Yau Sze Chun's group mate Lui Cheuk On attended a brand collaboration event in Kowloon Tong yesterday with Yuen Siu Yee and others. Lui Cheuk On was busy filming ViuTV's Hong Kong drama "LONG VACATION" with Ali Lee Kai Sum. He revealed that no intimate scenes have been filmed yet, praised the crew's attention to detail as they arrange to shoot light and simple scenes so actors could gradually adapt to the environment and rhythm. He praised Lee Kai Sum as a "super good partner," and said that her quick immersion into the character left him in awe. "The first time I met her with the director she felt unfamiliar, greeting and exchanging a few pleasantries about the drama production. When reading the script and auditioning, she was more refined. There have been rumors that Louis Koo Tin Lok has started filming the sequel to the Lui Cheuk On starred CHILLI LAUGH STORY, which would be scheduled to be released in next year's Lunar New Year season. He said that he has not heard of this and would consult producer Ng Kwan Yu for confirmation. "With less than half a year until Lunar New Year, the series will shoot until the end of October, and preparations for the MIRROR concert will begin in November. If we would really make a New Year film, I wouldn't mind sacrificing sleep time.'

Siu Yee and MIRROR captain Lokman Yeung starred in the stage play THE RETURN OF SIU LUK, which would be adapted into a film. Andy Lau Tak Wah would invest in and produce the film, Herman Yau Lai To would direct, and the film would be scheduled to be the Lunar New Year film for next year. She was delighted that the stage play she starred in would be made into a movie, so being able to bring together the original cast was truly rare. "Wah Jai liked the script of this stage play and had the right to replace everyone, but he liked us too. I'm truly grateful to Wah Jai."

Would she feel any pressure carrying the movie as its lead actress? Siu Yee said she was the female lead in the stage play, but wondered how the movie version would be produced as there might be some additions or reductions. "I haven't received the script yet, so even adding more people would be a good thing. (Are you afraid that your role would be diluted?) I don't mind. When you watch the stage play, it feels like I'm the female lead. Actually, the roles are very balanced. I don't know how the movie will be arranged, but I'm really looking forward to it."

Siu Yee said that if Lau Tak Wah would participate, she would definitely applaud in support. "I don't think I've ever acted with Lau Tak Wah before. I want to interact on screen, I have no problem with comedic and kiss scenes, but when it comes to serious romance scenes, I just can't handle it. Just hearing about it makes my hair stand on its ends." Her nonstop work earned her the nickname "multimillionaire woman," but Siu Yee denied it and said, "It's okay to say it, as long as everyone is happy. I definitely have money but not enough to earn money to buy flowers to wear. I have to keep earning to get by, but it's not as hard as before. Ah Jeng (Bonnie Wong Ching Yi) is the real earner; she has many commercial gigs, and her annual salary should be more than 5 million."

Also attending film festivals would be MIRROR's captain and vice captain Lokman and Anson Kong Ip Sang (AK). Developing decently at the film industry in recent years, Lokman starred with Hedwig Tam Sin Yin and Maggie Siu Mei Kei in the film DEAD END (BEI SAT DIK NA TIN). Earlier the film was selected for the 31st Busan International Film Festival "Vision Asia" competition segment and would hold its world premiere there next month. Lokman in the film would play a role that required him to face extremely complicated emotions. The film market winter actually has not put next year's Lunar New Year "on ice", as recently many Lunar New Year films have announced their production starts. Some point to even Louis Koo Tin Lok has been interested in joining the fray! The Malaysian goddess Lin Minchen starred Lunar New Year film MAD MAD WORLD (FU GUAI BIK YUN LOI) has been completed. Due to her good performance, director Clifton Ko Chi Sum not only added to her role during the shoot, but also arranged for her to perform in the Lunar New Year film for 2028.

Although a "chill" has been felt throughout the film industry in recent years and last year's Lunar New Year scheduled was almost "completely neglected", 2027 would welcome a "Small Springtime" as many Lunar New Year films have started production. Reportedly Koo Tin Lok is planning to make the CHILLI LAUGH STORY (HOP GA LAT) sequel HOP GA DA MA JUEK. Meanwhile the Malaysian goddess Lin Minchen, Loletta Lee Lai Chun and Hugo Goh (Wong Toi Yung) starred film MAD MAD WORLD (FU GUAI BIK YUN LOI) has already wrapped up production in Malaysia and is now in post-production. Director Ko Chi Sum revealed that the shoot was very smooth, Lin Minchen due to her outstanding performance even had added scenes. "Her aura and pace has quite a comedy feel, during the shoot she is very sharp and gets a lot right away. She has very few bad takes, so I keep adding to her role. Finally I probably added 4 scenes total." In the film Lin Minchen and the Malaysian actor Yuan Teng played a happy rivals and many scenes together, including fighting on the beach with actual feel temperature of nearly 40 degrees Celsius. Ko Chi Sum pointed out that they were full of sparks. "Lin Minchen and Yuan Teng are very in sync in many scenes. Lin Minchen is very demanding on herself, especially with Cantonese dialogue she has been very persistent. Before the shoot she spent a lot of time to prepare, afterward she also insisted on providing her own voice."

Although MAD is still in the post-production, Ko Chi Sum has already planned to start shooting the 2028 Lunar New Year film BAK KUT TEH (YUK GWUT CHA) in March next year and save a spot for Lin Minchen as he had confidence in her performance. BAK would be inspired by the classic Hong Kong film CHICKEN AND DUCK TALK (GAI TUNG NGAP GONG) and then create an all new story. Ko Chi Sum revealed that he has given Michael Hui Koon Man a heads up. Many viewers hoped that he would be able to perform, but due to the new film would be shot in Malaysia. The traveling would make that unlikely. For the Lunar New Year schedule becoming cheerful, Ko Chi Sum stated that a full bloom would be a good thing. As for next year Lin Minchen might face "counterfeit Lin Minchen" Miko Wong Jie Kee and her Lunar New Year film GOLDEN BLESSIGNS (WONG GUM HEI SI), Ko Chi Sum joked, "I don't know who is the counterfeit Lin Minchen!"

In addition, Lin Minchen is now staying in Tokyo, Japan and learning Japanese. The day before yesterday she uploaded a class video on the social network and went to a designated place with her classmates to buy Daifuku. She could not use the phone and navigation throughout the process, and could only ask the locals for directions and communication in Japanese. In the end she successfully completed the mission.

The television Best Actor Bosco Wong Chung Chak's first film as a producer and a star would have been a new Shaw film for Lunar New Year 2027, but recently the film has been rumored to be postponed and withdraw from next year's Lunar New Year schedule. [2026.09.15] ANDY LAU INVESTS IN STAGE DRAMA'S FILM ADAPTATION FOR LUNAR NEW YEAR

Guy group MIRROR member Lokman Yeung's stage play THE RETURN OF SIU LUK (GUAN YU NA JET GUAI WUI WAN DIK GOO SI) that ran in May this year would be adapted into an Andy Lau Tak Wah invested film. Lau Tak Wah would even personally produce and Herman Yau To Lai would direct, and the film would be scheduled for a Lunar New Year 2027 release. Reportedly Lau Tak Wah enjoyed the play very much, felt that the script was full of warmth, humorous yet touching, so he finally decided to invest in the film adaptation. The film has been scheduled to start production in November. Lokman admitted that he was both excited and nervous about the the play's big screen adaptation.

In terms of the film's cast, Lokman will continue to participate in the performance and is expected to work with the original stage team of Leung Chung Hang, Joe Wong Yiu Cho, Grace Wu Lai Ying, Melody Yuen Wan Shan and Simon Ngai Ping Long. Leung Chung Hang and Wu Lai Ying have made outstanding achievements in the theater industry, respectively known as "Drama Best Actor" and "Drama Best Actress"; Lokman has also been nominated for the 34th Hong Kong Drama Award "Best Actor (Comedy/Farce)" with BILLY AND LEO in recent years, and then won the "Audience Television Award" for the best male lead with BEFORE THE END.

Lokman revealed in an interview that during the performance of the play he has actually heard of the adaptation news, as the cast and the craft have been in contact with Lau Tak Wah's side; but at that time everything was not yet confirmed so he intend to wait for things to be clearer before the announcement. He pointed out that at this stage Lau Tak Wah's investment is already known, Yau Lai To would direct and Yuen Wan Shan would write. The script was still under discussed, and the film hoped to bring back the original team to perform.

Regarding the move from the stage to the big screen, Lokman admitted that he was both excited and nervous because the two interpretation methods would be always different. "The stage can be very simple, all the home sets have been established, but if the film would not take place completed at home then it would be necessary to thin about what to add in there. Everyone is still discussing this." As for whether the shoot would start in November, he admitted that he was still waiting for the notice but has set aside space in his schedule. His future work will focus on this film and the MIRROR concert.

Would Lau Tak Wah would make a guest appearance? Lokman said that he has not received the news, but said that he very much wanted him to perform and looked forward to working with Lau Tak Wah. "It's so rare to have the opportunity to work together. Before we just met and chatted. We haven't truly officially worked together." "70 Leslie with Love Concert" was successfully completed the night before at the West Kowloon Cultural District AXA Bambbo Grove Park, and the venue had no empty seat. The guests included Sam Hui Koon Kit, Kenny Bee (Chung Chun To) and his daughter Blythe Chung Yi, Karen Mok Man Wai, Dicky Cheung Wai Kin, Patrick Tam Yiu Man, Adia Chan Chung Ling, Michael Tse Tin Wah, William So Wing Hong, Eliza Chan Kit Ling, MIRROR member Ian Chan Cheuk Yin, Janees Wong Lok Yin, Jenny Ian Man Fong, Ryan Fong Hei Chit, Mic-Go Ngan, etc., to pay tribute to "Gor Gor" Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing with a high standard of performance, and celebrate his 70th birthday together.

Tam Yiu Man performed "Luck Will Always Come" and ONCE UPON AN ORDINARY GIRL (NUNG BOON DOR CHING) theme song, revealing that back stage at an award show one year, his late mentor Anita Mui Yim Fong knew that he liked Gor Gor and brought him over to greet him. At the time Gor Gor said to him, "Pretty good, I saw your performance. Keep going, but you have to remember to keep learning, elevate yourself. Later we would encounter many difficulties, you would have to overcome them one after another. Don't give up o easily. You have to first treat people well before people would treat you well." Those words have been useful his entire life, supporting him whenever he felt down and keeping him on his journey of chasing dreams in show business. Years later when he was no longer a singer he received a call, it was from Gor Gor's manager to invite him to watch Gor Gor's farewell concert. He then sang and danced the medley of "Matter of Young Girls' Hearts" and "First Time" and was praised for capturing Gor Gor's spirit. So Wing Hong then performed "Falling For You" and sang "Who Made Your Heart Crazed" with Chan Kit Ling.

When the concert reached 9:12 p.m., a total of 1,956 drones were lifted from the barge at sea to the night sky, showing 9 minutes 12 seconds and "Gor Gor"-related patterns, including his looks from different periods, Icon that had been displayed on the stage, and the birthday cake at the end. All the graphics were vivid and the audience was deeply touched. The concert organizer Chan Suk Fun gratefully said, that rain was originally in the weather forecast Saturday night, but in the end it only rained before the concert began and during the middle part, and the air was even more comfortable with the cold breeze. She was grateful to the weather for playing along.

Chan Cheuk Yin performed I HONESTLY LOVE YOU. He said that he did not know Gor Gor and did not have the opportunity to work together, every time he listened to his movie theme songs scenes from the movie would appear in his mind. He has heard how Gor Gor contributed to the Hong Kong show business since he was little and took great care of his juniors. He hoped that his next generation would listen to Gor Gor's songs and watch his movies. Yet singing we did so relatively few times, because everyone back then didn't always run into each other at singing occasions. However at some private parties, for example Leslie liked to have Christmas party and there would be a live band. Everyone would inevitably sing on the stage. Sometimes he would sing one, I would sing one, then everyone would sing one together. However it is a pity that at the time the mobile phone were not able to record, so few fragments of the videos have remained. I never thought today 'Gor Gor' and I can sing together today. These memories are all inside my brains, and I will never forget them. Leslie Happy Birthday."

The final performer Sam Hui Koon Kit (Sam Gor) first played "Silence is Golden". The big screen appeared "Gor Gor"'s performance footage, creating the visual of Sam Gor and "Gor Gor"'s duet over the air. Then Sam Gor changed some of the lyrics to his own song "Hard To Forget You" and dedicated it to "Gor Gor." In the middle of the song "Who Can Relate", the singers once again appeared on the stage and sang with Sam Gor to "Gor Gor". Gor Gor and Sam Gor's final performance together was at Sam Hui's retirement concert in early 1992. At the time Gor Gor who has "retired his microphone" for 3 years in order to support his idol and good friend made a special exception to perform SILENCE IS GOLDEN with Sam Gor.

Before the concert was officially finished, the big screen played "Gor Gor"'s love Daffy Tong Hok Tak (Tong Tong)'s voice recording. Tong Tong said, "Hello everyone. Today is Leslie's 70th birthday.
