Donnie Yen Chi Tan will receive a wax figure from Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. The wax museum in April will create a wax figure with his IP MAN image for its location at the Peak. Yesterday Chi Tan went to the museum for hand printing, which he received as a commemorative gift.

Being along side superstars, he said, "I am very honored and very happy." Earlier when he received news about his wax figure, he was working on IP MAN 2 in Shanghai. The company sent four or five workers to Shanghai for measurement, the process of which opened his eyes. He expressed that the wax figure is expected to be completed at the end of April, just in time for IP MAN 2's release. An unveiling ceremony will be held and he will bring his wife and children to share the joy. He also joked, "I will be very busy, my wife and children can go to the wax museum to see me and chat." He also said that IP MAN indeed was his representative work, like Chow Yun Fat's Mark Gor and Jet Li (Lee Nin Kit)'s Wong Fei Hung. He pointed out that the character was his turning point, because of that film he has received endless film offers and substantial salary increase, as well as many good friends.

Yen Chi Tan after the event immediately left Hong Kong to prepare for his new film GUAN YUNCHANG. He revealed that recently he has been busy with the screenplay and history, as he will gain weight to play Second Brother Guan. He said, "When I worked on 14 BLADES (GUM YI WAI) due to the topless scene I had to 'inflate' myself in two short weeks. The hardest was I had to be thin on one hand and gain weight on the other." For GUAN, because he will have to carry the halberd and ride horses, he will have to get gain more weight to be able to play the character's feistiness and heroics. The task will be highly difficult.

The Jacky Cheung Hok Yau and Tang Wei starred CROSSING HENNESSY (YUET MOON HIN NEI SI) will open in Hong Kong on April 1. This time Hok Yau and Tang Wei play a feuding couple, with their hearts belonging to another. Tang Wei has been missing her prison boyfriend Andy On Chi Kit while Hok Yau has been unable to cut ties with former girlfriend Maggie Cheung Ho Yi. Cheung Ho Yi plays a very career minded female photographer. Hok Yau still has feelings for this former girlfriend. Once they run into each other and have an one night stand in Ho Yi's studio. Hok Yau thinks that they can rekindle their romance but the next day Cheung Ho Yi drives him out. Ho Yi also asks Hok Yau to be a model, Hok Yau happily thinks that his former girlfriend would shoot a series of pretty photos for him, but when he arrives he discovers that he has to wear prison uniform as the background.

Hok yau points out that his character is a gutless and lazy "mama's boy", after living a few decades he has nothing to show for it. Thus he understands that even if Cheung Ho Yi loves him she would not live with him, she would only be a good friend. This character is his first with so little going in his life. He jokes that this character is truly too lazy, if he is Cheung Ho Yi he too would bail. Yet Cheung Ho Yi says that being with a kind hearted "Mama's boy" is very pleasant and comforting, as they would not have any stress of outwitting each other. She feels no matter the personality, everyone in the end can find a suitable other half to make up for their own shortcoming.

[2010.03.11] CHRISSIE CHAU SCARED OFF COPS WITH HER FIRST HEARTBREAK

Koni Lui Wai Yi and Chrissie Chau Sau Na in the film WOMB GHOSTS (NGOK TOI) played romantic rivals. They fought over a man in the film but in real life they also ended relationships due to third party. They both expressed disgust for cheating men and absolutely would not be the third party.

Chrissie in WOMB played a vicious third party who was merciless in her pursuit of a married man as she caused Koni's miscarriage. Chrissie was worried that her character was despicable. "I feel she is, but as an actor I should try different things. I can't just want to play good people or pretty girls." Chrissie said, "My first relationship ended due to a third party. He was seeing two girls at once and I ran right into them on the streets. Later I discovered that he was seeing three people, I was very hurt!" Chrissie honestly said that she lost control of her emotion over her first broken heart. "That night I went home alone I couldn't control myself. I cried very loudly, when two cops saw me they didn't dare to ask me what happened."

Chrissie in the film was the target of the miscarried womb ghost. Before making it, she enjoyed supernatural films. After completing the new film she was able to leave the character, but for some reasons she now became suspicious and scared. She had to carry around the safety charm that her mother got her to be at ease.

Already on her fourth movie, Koni said, "Earlier I played career or business woman characters, this time I was elevated to play a wife and a weakling. Leon Lai Ming, Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Michelle Ye (Yip Shuen), Wilfred Lau Ho Lung, Charles Ying Cheung Yau and other actors of FIRE OF CONSCIENCE (FOR LUNG) along with director Dante Lam Chiu Yin attended the film's music video premiere. Because it was Leon's second wedding anniversary, after the event he left in a hurry.

The leads Siu Chai and Lai Ming host the "fire dragon" eye dotting ceremony and the film's music video was aired. They talked about their production experience. Lai Ming was full of facial hair in the film, the host asked whether Lai Ming was jealous that Siu Chai did not have to wear a fake beard. Opening next Thursday (March 18), JUST ANOTHER PANDORA'S BOX (YUET GUONG BO HUP) director Jeff Lau Chun Wai paid tribute to many films. They included classic scenes from THE PROMISE, THE MATRIX and A CHINES ODYSSEY. In one scene Eric Tsang Chi Wai and current Golden Horse Best Actor Huang Bo performed a jam that was hilarious and inevitably reminded people of RED CLIFF.

Chi Wai and Huang Bo played Zhuge Liang and Zhou Yu. They admired each other and even played instruments in a song together. However they actually liked heavy metal rock, as they jammed with a electric guitar and a harmonica. Their hair went all over the place. The film was based on RED CLIFF's Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo)'s ancient instrument exchange. This time Director Lau gave it a complete make over and turned it into an absurd comedy version. Chi Wai had nothing but praise for it. "If you have seen RED CLIFF, you would understand right away what we are trying to do in this scene. I never thought that in costume we could still have such a thoroughly rock & roll jam, we really sang until our hair was a mess."

The 34th Annual Hong Kong International Film Festival yesterday held a press conference to announce that films FIRE OF CONSCIENCE (FOR LUNG) and LOVE IN A PUFF (CHI MING YU CHUN GIU) will on March 23 and 24 will hold world premiere at the film festival. The films' directors and actors attended the event. They included Leon Lai Ming, Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Miriam Yeung Chin Wa and Shawn Yue Man Lok. Yesterday was Lai Ming and Gaile Lok's wedding anniversary, but Leon went to work just the same. At night he even attended the FIRE OF CONSCIENCE music video premiere but expressed that after work he will celebrate with his wife.

At the press conference, both Lai Ming and Yeung Chin Wa appeared. Earlier they were rumored to be at odds and that Chin Wa will join East Asia's Capital Artists after her contract with Amusic ends. Although they were both present, because they represented two different films they did not have many chances for exchange. They only shared the stage during the group photo but they were very far apart.

The event showed footage from both films. Lai Ming had many dangerous stunts. He said that director Dante Lam Chiu Yin was very explosive and had violent tendency, but he knew how to control it. Later, Lai Ming felt that action films have to have violence to be able to move people. He felt that the director was very creative, violence too could be right and wrong, which was what this film wanted to tell everyone. When asked whether he turned down any stunt because it was too hard, Lai Ming said, "This film is pretty realistic, does jumping from the sixth floor highly difficult? Actually it was only high and not difficult, I jumped and it was done. I only had to do it without getting hurt, and figure out how to overcome my fear." Would he like to become an action actor? He said that the boss would decide that, not the person doing it. Was this film was tough? He said, "Nothing is easy."

Yam Yin Chai said that this time he did not have it as tough as Lai Ming, but he also had a lot of action in their final duel. In one scene he had to keep on running like a marathon. Before the shoot he did not dare to eat anything as he was afraid that he would have to run until he puked. However he got blisters on his feet from all the running. As for Lai Ming's claim that the director had violent tendency, Siu Chai said, "I called him a merciless director, the explosions were very close. He said they bought insurance but he never saw the policy."

Miriam Yeung Chin Wa and Shawn Yue Man Lok in LOVE IN A PUFF (CHI MING YU CHUN GIU) played an older woman young man relationship. They yesterday attended the press conference. Ah Lok expressed that he did not mind dating older girls, director Pang Ho Cheung asked whether he has. Ah Lok said, "I am not telling you." Chin Wa exposed Ah Lok and said, "She was a foreigner."

Later, reporters pointed out that Chin Wa revealed that Ah Lok had a foreign girlfriend. Chin Wa said, "I am just making stuff up, did I get it? I instead am afraid of people talking about me, even freshness wrap stinks after ten uses." Chin Wa said that in the film Ah Lok sent her a upside down "I miss you" text message. She tried the same idea on her husband but he did not understand and thought it was a wrong number.

As for her contract, Chin Wa said that now she first had to negotiate with a manager who would then negotiate her record contract for her. For now she would mainly make movies. Will she jump to Capital Artists? She expressed that nothing has been confirmed. Currently her manager is Rich and Famous Talent Management Group, she would worry about it once the negotiation is done. Will she very likely work with Rich and Famous again? She said of course. If she will not sign with Amusic, will seeing Lai Ming be awkward? Chin Wa said, "I will buy tickets to see his movie. We still haven't talked one on one yet, I still have to get a manager first."

Yue Man Lok denied that he had a foreign girlfriend, which he joked that he would like one though. Then he stated that actually he was very traditional and liked Chinese girls. Age truly did not matter to him. He even said that many of his past girlfriends were older than him. When asked whether Emme Wong Yee Man was older than him, he quickly said, "Older than me." Then he realized that he misspoke and said, "Oh! What was that again?"

Ah Lok also said that he felt communication with foreigners was difficult. His English was not too great. If they spoke Putonghua then he could accept them because he was Chinese. As for former rumored girlfriend Rainie Yang (Yeung Sing Lam), Ah Lok said that she was much younger than he was but during the series shoot they had little communication. He expressed that perhaps when he was little he lived away from his mother so he had a little Oedipal complex. The doctor said that he would thus like older girls. However, he said that the oldest was 12 years his senior. He also said that he was very dependent and loved being taken care of, in particular with money. Thus he had to find a reliable mate.
