[2019.02.22] GIGI LEUNG DECLINES GUEST STARRING ROLE FOR HER DAUGHTER

The Lunar New Year MISSBEHAVIOR (GUNG HEI BAK POR) so far has already made over HK$ 13 million at the box office. Last night a celebration was held. Gigi Leung Wing Kei, Patrick Tse Yin, DaDa Chan Jing, Yanki Din (Ting Ho Yan), Isabel Chan Yat Ning, June Lam Siu Ha, Jo Kuk Cho Lam, Susan Shaw Yam Yam, Tsui Tin Yau and Hanjin Tan (Chan Woon Yan) attended.

Gigi said that this year's Lunar New Year competition was strong and she was pleased with the box office performance. The director said that if the film made over HK$ 25 million he would take everyone skiing. Gigi was not much of a skier so she was not affected. Yet because everyone were good friends and the production went smoothly, no matter how much the box office ended up with the director would take everyone skiing.

Gigi also said that one of the Easter Eggs in the film was her husband's guest appearance. "I thought it made a lot of sense, he had two Chinese lines 'very smelly, no problem' that he already knew how to say, because when he changed our daughter when she was younger he would say them." Did her husband like acting? Gigi said that her husband of course would not consider it as a lifelong career. This time he just lent the director a hand and only took some lai see. Would she ask her daughter to guest star next time? Gigi immediately declined. "Sometimes children aren't as easy to control as anyone would imagine."

DaDa dressed like her character in the film. She said that she just returned from Taiwan in the afternoon. She went with the director on this trip to shoot a Taiwan marathon promotional film. Everyday she only got six hours of sleep. "The last time I went with the director to promote in Taiwan was already six years ago for VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET). This time I am very happy that many fans still remember me, some came from Kaohsiung to Taipei to watch the movie."

Yanki Din (Ting Ho Yan) earlier was revealed as a school bully who stole a classmate's mobile phone. Later she also made a video to admit what she did and apologized to the classmate affected. Did the company know she would do that? Ting Ho Yan said that she talked about it with her manager and she has said what she wanted to say on the video already. She said that she contacted several classmates and already made reparation, but she only said that the classmates replied and accepted her apology.

Artist Eva Lai Yin Shan, "Sing Girl" Vin E Jingwen, Tin Kai Man, Claire Yiu Ka Nei and others two nights ago attended the film NEW KING OF COMEDY (SUN HEI KET JI WONG) celebration. Lai Yin Shan said that she could relate to lead actress E Jingwen's dream chasing. When she got into the business a "Golden Horse" and "Hong Kong Film Award" Best Actor was abusing her. "I remember at the time the director yelled cut, he still was abusing you, ripping at your clothes, stepping on you and yelling with foul language. (Was he a Hong Kong actor?) Yes! He is still around but he isn't working anymore. Maybe at the time he was drunk." She declined to reveal the identity of the man. She said that after the abuse she hid and cried. Luckily her parents gave her a positive personality. Looking back she even thought that she had to thank him for making her stronger.

Jerry Lamb Hiu Fung two nights ago attended the Lunar New Year film A JOURNEY OF HAPPINESS (WAN JUEN CHUEN GA FOOK) premiere. Ah Lo said that the film shot in Malaysia for over a month. Everyday they had to visit different locations, just like the holiday tour in the film. In the film he played a real estate agent. He had an open house scene and realized that no one lived in the development. He said, "I asked the locals and they said that no one lived there because it was very small. However it had a high ceiling and over 600 square foot balcony. It was only 2 million!"

Speaking of the film becoming the Malaysian Chinese Lunar New Year film box office champion, Ah Lo said that this was a Malaysian film. He hoped that in Hong Kong it would become the Malaysian film box office champion.

Alex Lam Tak Shun two nights ago attended the Lunar New Year film A JOURNEY OF HAPPINESS (WAN JUEN CHUEN GA FOOK) premiere and praised how attentive the team was . During the shoot they had sunny days, so he wanted to sunbathe while waiting for his turn. He said, "However the sun was very strong. The team had someone holding umbrellas to block the sun for everyone. They worried that I would get too tan and ruin continuity of the shoot. I want to sunbathe, they wouldn't let me, so I ran around back and forth!"

He also revealed that his co-star Lo Hoi Pang really liked durian. One day the team filled a table with durian and Brother Pang was very happy, with durian in one hand and a cigarette on the other. Susan Shaw Yam Yam said that Brother Pang really liked that film, wherever they wen he told her to smoke. Now she has been scared off smoking.

Jessica Hester Hsuan (Suen Huen), Sammy, former Hong Kong team cyclist Wong Kam Bo yesterday attended the "virtual velodrome" launch ceremony.

At the end of next month she would have to work on BACK TO THE PAST (CHUM CHUN GEI) for Louis Koo Tin Lok's film company in the Mainland, but so far Suen Huen still has not received an official script. "At first the story kept changing. Goo Jai welcomed everyone's suggestions. I also mentioned my friends' suggestions and suggested certain actors at the request of others to Goo Jai. Goo Jai thought the ideas were decent. This time for the film version he encouraged actor participation and suggestion. Earlier I said that I was very worried about all the action scenes, Goo Jai said with (Sammo) Hung Kam Bo as the action director even if I didn't know how to fight he would make me look good. The Wong Cho Lam directed Lunar New Year film I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE! (NEI MAI LEI, NGOR OI NEI!) has been in release for over two weeks, made HK$ 8.8 million and was the worst performer among the 4 Hong Kong Lunar New Year films. Even so, Cho Lam still worked hard on audience appreciation to pump up the box office. His highest record was 13 shows all over Hong Kong in a day. So far he has already gone to 125 shows. Because this was his directing debut, he knew that he had a lot of shortcoming. Thus he went to the movies to listen to the audience in person for future improvement. As of yesterday the Sean Lau Ching Wan, Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Karena Lam Ka Yun starred INTEGRITY (LIM JING FUNG WON YIN MOK) led with HK$ 28.84 million and still HK$ 400,000 for the single box office.
