Karena Lam Ka Yan attended the World Sight Day Awards Ceremony yesterday as the "Orbis Ambassador of Light". She shared with the attendees her experience of going to Mongolia to save vision in April this year, calling for attention to the work of saving vision and cherishing it at the same time. She said that she has limited the time for her two daughters to use the Internet. Fortunately, her daughters have not ask to use a mobile phone. The elder daughter felt that using a mobile phone would reduce communication with classmates. She basically knew her daughter's schedule, and when necessary, her daughter would use her classmate's mobile phone to contact her.

The movie TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN (GAU LUNG SING JAI JI WAI SING) would represent Hong Kong in the competition for Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards. Recently, multiple sets were displayed at the airport. Did she think that they will help promote Hong Kong movies? Lam Ka Yan hoped that Hong Kong films would be able to reach an international level and gain attention. Whether film or tourism, they would help to attract the attention of the outside world. Action movies are so popular, did she think that actresses were losing a lot of acting opportunities? She agreed and felt sorry for actresses, lamenting the lack of female action stars in Hong Kong. Michelle Yeoh is the only one who came to her mind. She felt a disconnection and thought Hong Kong needed to train more martial arts actresses. "In the past, in order to protect me, the company only accepted movies of the same type, which made people feel I mainly act in dramatic films. I wasn't allowed to work on fight scenes. If I had the chance to do it all over again, I would be willing to try different types of movies." She felt that in most of the action movies nowadays, actresses were auxiliary, so young actors should try all types of roles.
