The Hong Kong film market has been in a downturn recently. Two Best Actors, Simon Yam Tat Wa and Louis Koo Tin Lok, have decided to bring "a little freshness" to movie fans. They both will play local roles in new films to "rescue the market". Yam Tat Wa transformed into a desert man and trained in "frying power", while Goo Jai performed his "crying power" in the hope of impressing the audience and helping the movie's box office get back on track.

Yam Tat Wa in the new film LITTLE RED SWEET (HUNG DAU) plays a Teochew mad man who in order to save his family business of a dessert shop, has differences of opinions with Stephy Tang Lai Yan, his daughter who is pursuing her dream; thus reaffirming love and legacy. His appearance as a dessert man in the film has recently been exposed. In order to get into the role, Yam Tat Wa went to learn how to fry red beans beforehand. He fried red beans for several hours every day. His professional attitude was admirable.

Speaking of risking everything to support a low-budget production this time, Yam Tat Wa firmly believed that this film could definitely bring out the human touch and Hong Kong nostalgia. Some said that RED was his film ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW (SHUI YUET SUN TAU)'s extension. Back then ECHOES reached a boiling point in terms of performance and word of mouth, he was even awarded the "Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor" for it. No wonder the cast and the crew were fully confident in him this time!

As for the Goo Jai starred VITAL SIGN (SUNG YUEN TOH JUNG), it was intended to pay tribute to the paramedic team. Some said that he felt that the meaning behind the movie was extraordinary, so he decided to recommend himself for the role. In the film, he played the hardship of a paramedic. As a single father, he even faced separation from his beloved daughter. The father-daughter relationship was quite tear-jerking. The young actress who played his daughter this time was Goo Jai's daughter in WARRIORS OF FUTURE (MING YUT JIN GEI). Goo Jai praised, "I have to cry, and she does too. She cries even harder than me!" He also revealed the large-scale disaster scene at the end of the movie was adapted from a real life situation. He said that he "learned a lot" from this performance, which he did not expected.
