The Juno Mak Chun Lung directed film SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT (FUNG LUM FOR SHAN) started filming in 2017, wrapped up production the next year and has not been released for 7 years since then. The production cost has been rumored to go from the original HK$ 150 million to 400 million. The film tells the story of a wealthy businessman in Hong Kong who was killed in a bombing incident, which led to a tug of war between drug dealers and law enforcers. Earlier SONS OF THE NEON NIGHT reportedly would be released this year, and the 78th Cannes Film Festival to be held in the middle of this month has selected the film for the midnight screening unit.
