Since PROJECT GUTENBERG (MO SEUNG) in 2018, Chow Yun
Fat after 5 years finally returned to the Hong Kong big screen. ONE
MORE CHANCE (BIT GEIN NGOR DOH SUN) would be Anthony Pun Yiu Ming
directed, Felix Chong Man Keung written, Best Actor Chow Yun Fat led
Best Actress Anita Yuen Wing Yi, Alex Fong Chung Shun, Dick Liu Kai
Chi and Will Or Wai Lam to bring a heart warming Hong Kong film. The
film would be released on June 29th.
Fat Gor has played the God of Gamblers many times, this time
his character Fai however would be a major acting breakthrough.
Although he has been called the "God of Gamblers", but Fai actually
was only an immature and frequent casino visitor; in addition the
character would not have any excellent gambling skills, but a down on
his luck middle aged guy who lost 9 out of 10 times. The role would
be a complete opposite of the God of Gamblers' image that Fat Gor has
played in the past. In the film Fat Gor with good friend Dick Liu Kai
Chi and Alex Fong Chung Shun operated a retro hair salon, but business
has been poor. The money he made would not be enough to cover all of
his gambling debts. Even if he worshipped Bruce Lee everyday, his
chances at getting rich has not arrived yet. From the film poster
Fat Gor had an extremely rare long hair look and cheap clothing to
match his down on his luck character design.
In the film Fat Gor's former girlfriend Anita Yuen Wing Yi
suddenly appeared and asked him to take care of her son Will Or Wai
Lam for a month and gave him money to pay off his debts as
compensation. Fai haphazardly agreed to the task, after becoming the
baby sitter he realized that the child had autism. Originally thinking
that it was easy money, he was left helpless by the special needs of
the babysitting gig; as they got along they developed a father and son
relationship and let Fai find his own life goals instead of continuing
his wasted life. Fat Gor rarely played a father, with Or Wai Lam he
played a thought provoking and warm father and son relationship that
was very suitable for a June release that would be filled with fatherly
love.

When a fortune teller predicts that a psychopath is destined to commit murder, he uses the powers of feng shui and metaphysics to change the course of events. A thematic continuation of his classic films about the neverending struggle between fate and free will, Soi Cheang delivers a gripping thriller with intensity and panache, powered by producer Johnnie To and screenwriter Yau Nai-hoi. Gordon Lam and Lokman Yeung are extraordinary as two men standing at the edge of sanity, as they fight an invisible enemy. Berlinale Special.

The sky above Hong Kong is not just heavy with clouds and rain, it also contains astral signs and dark omens in this esoteric neo-noir. In a radical and counter-intuitive move, rather than having the characters' trajectories converge towards the end, the plot instead knits their fates together from the start. Crossing paths at the scene of a heinous crime in a brothel are the serial killer perpetrator and the upstanding detective chasing him, but also a delivery boy obsessed with blood and knives and an occultist feng shui master who had predicted the victim's gory fate without being able to prevent it. The last two quickly form an unlikely pair, and this transforms the film into a surreal, hyperkinetic, expressionist buddy thriller. The horoscopes confirm that the boy will soon succumb to his bloodthirsty temptations, but to redeem past failures and save him from his fate, the fortune teller is willing to do anything. As the investigations gather pace, the pair sinks into delirium in a whirlwind of superstitions, rituals and distortions, against a backdrop of an alchemical metropolis.

Cecilia Choi Sze Wan, Kevin Chu Kam Yin and Tony Wu Tsz
Yin in the new film TALES FROM THE OCCULT: BODY AND SOUL (SUT HUNG
HUNG GAN JUI YU SAT)'s segment CHESHIRE CAT (MAU GIP). Often
performing in dramatic films, Choi Sze Wan challenged action scenes
for the first time in the film. She even said that the production
techniques that she learned earlier finally became useful, like how to
get her hair pulled without hurting herself. She admitted that she
used to think that it was very fake, but after trying it this time she
realized that on camera it was truly useful. She thought it was
very interesting.
Choi Sze Wan, Chu Kam Yin and Wu Tsz Tung starred in the new
film TALES FROM THE OCCULT: BODY AND SOUL (SUT HUNG HUNG GAN JUI YU
SAT)'s segment CHESHIRE CAT (MAU GIP). Playing a cat volunteer, Choi
Sze Wan had a special feeling because she was a cat slave herself. "I
have two cats, I am very mad about this subject. As long as I think
of someone wanting to hurt my cats, I would get very mad. The anger
level would rise, so during the shoot I was very focused on this type
of emotions and would be especially focused." Has she lost a cat like
in the film? She revealed that cats' nature was to be playful and
free, once when she opened the door to take out the trash they ran out
the door. Luckily outside the door was not open space, even if they
went out they would not be lost. Afterward she also taught them not to
run outside. "In the beginning when I was training them I had to go
and catch them before they would come back, later as soon as I yelled
they would know to go home. Their playful nature was very hard to
control, they long for the outside world very much and thought that
being able to rush out was a lot of fun. Luckily in the end I was
able to get them to come back." As for Wu Tsz Tung and Chu Kam Yin
they had no pet. Wu Tsz Tung said that he had allergy and was afraid
that he would be worried that something would happen to his pets. He
was afraid that he would not be able to accept the pain, so he decided
against having them. Chu Kam Yin said that she once considered having
pets, but he felt that he could not even maintain himself, so without
ample preparation he would not have any.
Choi Sze Wan and Chu Kam Yin in the film had many action
scenes. Chu Kam Yin said that the on set environment was narrow and
had many obstacles that he had to duck and dodge around. It was an
enormous challenge, luckily he was not hurt. Choi Sze Wan said that
it could count as the first time that she had a few action scenes.
She even said that the production techniques that she learned before
became handy. "Earlier when I was studying acting the instructor has
taught that before, like when my hair was being pulled I had to grab
the other person's hands tight. The other person would grab my hand
in the same way and use my hand to pull my hair. It actually really
became useful. When I heard it before, I was thinking this move was
very fake; but it actually was useful. On camera no one would slip up
or get hurt, which was really very interesting." Wu Tsz Tung pointed
out that the most memorable was their scene at the end. "We each had
friction, complaints and anger against the others, the scene might be
rather impactful to the audience. When we saw the scene live we
felt that impact. Anyone who had pets would feel it even more.
When everyone goes to the movie they would find out what our
relationships are, which would definitely would a pleasant surprise
for everyone."

The film TALES FROM THE OCCULT: BODY AND SOUL (SUT HUNG
HUNG GAN ji JUI YU SAT) has entered its second week in release. Its
segment CHESHIRE CAT (MAU GIP)'s actors Kevin Chu Kam Yin and Tony Wu
Tsz Tung both came from the sports world but worked together for the
first time. Wu Tsz Tung said that this time with the acting
interaction the collaboration was very pleasant.
On the day of the shoot Wu Tsz Tung held Cecilia Choi Sze
Wan captive in a bird cage. Chu Kam Yin not only just looked on, but
later also fought with Wu Tsz Tung over a difference of opinions. Wu
Tsz Tung said, "Originally we came up with some fight scenes, action
exchanges like slapping each other, but due to the story development
they were cut in the end. So I very much look forward to be able to
fight more with Ah Chu in the future."
Trapped in a cage and chained up, Choi Sze Wan was hung for
over a hour. In addition in the story she had to break down
emotionally and scream for help, the crew worried that the shoot would
be rough on the fragile looking actress. She however was enjoying the
moment. "When I was hung, originally I was a little scared. Later I
discovered it was very carefree and pretty fun, and on the set only I
got to do that. The others didn't get to, haha!"
In the film Chu Kam Yin, Choi Sze Wan and ANSONBEAN were in a
love triangle, but for this "romantic rival" Chu Kam Yin had nothing
but praise. Even Wu Tsz Tung agreed. "Anson is really very cute,
very full of energy. When he learned that he had a fight scene today,
before it was his turn he already told the director, 'I'm ready'. This
kid really is very interesting." Chu Kam Yin said that Anson would
always suddenly dance. The CHESHIRE CAT team earlier visited cinemas
around Hong Kong for audience appreciation events, which felt very
fresh for ANSONBEAN as it was his film debut.
Amy Lo looks refreshed with shorter hair courtesy of on.cc
Amy Lo says the short hair is easier to take care of courtesy of mingpao.com
Amy Lo Wai Man recently cut her long hair for work.
Two days ago she attended a brand private party with her refreshing
short hair. She said that her hair has never been so short. She
estimated that 8 inches were cut and praised how easy short hair was
to manage, especially after an all night shoot as her hair washing
time was cut in half. In recent years she participated in many film
and television performances. Her film with Chow Yun Fat ONE MORE
CHANCE (BIT GIU NGOR DOH SUN) would soon open in the mainland; the
horror film TALES FROM THE OCCULT: ULTIMATE MALEVOLENCE (SUT HUNG HUNG
GAN ji NGOR LIM JI JUI) and her film with Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui AN
ABANDONED TEAM (GAU JUEN YUN SUN) would open this year. Started as
a model, Lo Man Wai said, "I feel I have been lucky with opportunities,
ultimately my height is an obstacle in movies; but since I was born that way
I couldn't change it. I would work extra hard. When I have
production opportunities I would work while learning from elders. At
the same time I have been attending drama classes in hopes of
telling everyone in the future with substance, I truly have
successfully transitioned."
