[2012.07.05] MINI YANG SHOWS OFF HER CANTONESE

courtesy of  YCWB

The Vincent Zhao Wenzhuo and Mini Yang Mi starred WU DANG (DAI MO DONG ji TIN DEI MUK MA) yesterday promoted in Guangzhou. Zhao Wenzhuo was in a great mood and even told dirty jokes at the expense of Yang Mi's relationship with Harwick Lau Hoi Wai.

Zhao Wenzhuo compared Yang Mi with his GREEN SNAKE co-star Maggie Cheung Man Yuk.  "I remember when Cheung Man Yuk and I worked on a water seduction scene.  It was very cold at the time, 2 degrees Celsius below zero and at night.  Yet she was rolling and turning in the water without any complaint.  Yang Mi was just as professional as Cheung Man Yuk -- later in the shoot she definitely was bruised here and there, but she never complained or showed (her wounds) to others." Zhao Wenzhuo said that on the set he loved to chat with Yang Mi.  "I am someone who has been there after all, sometimes I would talk about my love experience with her.  Sometimes we would talk about children.  Yang Mi is young, I can't help but nag her: eat more, drink more water, put on more clothes.  She said that I was overabundant with fatherly love."  He even revealed that seeing his onscreen "daughter" Xu Jiao in love with Louis Fan Siu Wong who was much older than her, he could not help but think of his daughter.  "If my daughter will be in love, what will I do?  I think I have to be her driver.  Where she will go I will follow.  However, I guess I still won't be able to stop her.  I can only clearly discuss those "safety" issues first, then let her go -- of course, I am just saying now."

Yesterday Yang Mi showed off her Cantonese. "How are you, I am Yang Mi."  The host praised her Cantonese fluency and asked her where she learned it from.  Before Yang Mi could open her mouth, Zhao Wenzhuo jumped in.  "After swapping so much spit of course she would be able to speak." Everyone knew he was referring to Yang Mi's romance with Hong Konger Lau Hoi Wai and cracked up.  Yang Mi looked embarrassed, but the host did not spare her and kept asking how Yang Mi and Lau Hoi Wai communicated.  Yang Mi could only explain, "In general he speaks Cantonese and I speak Putonghua."

Stars of King Hu: Sylvia Chang, Hsu Feng, Cheng Pei Pei

This year would have been famous director King Hu (Wu Kam Chuen)'s 80th birthday.  In honor of his contribution to wuxia films, Taipei Museum Of Contemporary Art and Film Archive organized KING HU: THE RENAISSANCE MAN, an exhibit that will run until August 26.  Two nights ago at the opening ceremony female stars who have worked with Wu Kam Chuen before.  They included veteran director Sylvia Chang (Cheung Ngai Ga), COME DRINK WITH ME's lead actress Cheng Pei Pei and TOUCH OF ZEN's lead actress Hsu Feng.

Cheung Ngai Ga and director Wu Kam Chuen worked together on the 1979 film LEGEND OF THE MOUNTAIN.  At the time Director Wu did not have a son.  Because Cheung Ngai Ga looked like a boy, he called her "son". Recalling when she worked with Director Wu, Cheung Ngai Ga was sentimental.  He was the pride of the film industry.  She learned a lot from him.  She joked, "I have to come and check out Old Pa's special exhibit."  As for her film work, Cheung Ngai Ga since making the film RUN PAPA RUN has not made a new film.  However she has already adapted the play DESIGN FOR LIVING (WA LAI SEUNG BAN JOOK) into a film script and planned to make it before the end of the year.  Johnnie To Kei Fung will direct because she will star.

The film YUT LO HEUNG SAI (A ROAD TO THE WEST) two nights ago shot its poster, as its actresses dressed provocatively for their appearance.  They included Jeana Ho Pui Yu, Japanese adult video actress Jessica Kizaki, Mainland actresses Daniella Wang Lidan and Mo Qiwen.  Wang Lidan's 32F figure became the focus, Mo Qiwen appeared topless but Jeana was much more conservative.  She still claimed that she was the "captain" and two nights ago she was responsible for commanding other shipmates. She said that every movie was different and this one she did not need to be too sexy.  Would she just make room for others and avoid bed scenes altogether?  She said that this time she was responsible for commanding and left all the heavy lifting to her teammates.  As for Mongolia's Daniella Wang Lidan stealing the show, she said that strong nation naturally has a strong momentum.  She thought Jessica Kizaki was the sexiest.

Wang Lidan admitted that Mongolians were busty, both her mother and her grandmother were.  Her size was the Mongolian standard.  She also said that her figure and facial features were all natural.  This was her first performance and in the film she had topless scenes.  She said that her parents were very open minded.  In the past she has posed for sexy photos and her parents appreciated them like artwork.

Fellow Mainlander Mo Qiwen posed naked two nights ago.  She said that her topless scenes have already been shot.  She and Wang Lidan both had near six figure salaries, but she felt Wang was better than her.

This is a true story that happened in a South Korean school for the deaf.

Since 2000, the principle and several teachers cruelly abused and sexually violated the handicapped students aged between 7 to 22 in the school and were not discovered until five years later. Yet due to the South Korean justice system loophole they avoid the penalties that they deserve with unreasonably light sentences. The media widely reported the matter to the shock of the nation and the case is retried recently.

For Cho, a bounty hunter for whom no job is too small, his line of work is one that puts him in touch with all manner of strange people, and that's very much in evidence in his newest case. When a reward is placed for the capture of fugitive Lee Kin-fai, who's said to be hiding on an island off Hong Kong, Cho heads to the quiet locale and takes a room at a small hotel, the Lazy Inn, run by housekeeper and astrology columnist Linda and an intensely meddlesome manager.

Obstructing Cho's attempts at finding his target is the general weirdness of the locals. The lodge's manager and Linda appear to be father and daughter, though the man's denials cloud the situation; word gets out that Lee, wherever he is, has fallen for Linda; and the small-time hoodlums of the local Biting Sugar Cane Gang are making things difficult with their triad-style theatrics. Soon enough, it seems Cho doesn't just need to catch his man, but also has to clear up family woes and tackle island crime as well. - Tim Youngs

[2012.07.03] TONY LEUNG CHIU WAI WORKS ON THE SILENT WAR COMPLETELY BECAUSE OF ZHOU XUN

courtesy of mingpao.com

The Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Zhou Xun starred summer suspense THE SILENT WAR (TING FUNG JEH) was based on the May Jia's original novel.  Directors Alan Mak Siu Fai and Felix Chong Man Keung added the Zhou Xun played Zhang Xuening, the female superior office to the Tony Leung Chiu Wai played special agent He Bing, to create an intricate relationship.

Leung Chiu Wai already took THE SILENT WAR before making THE GREAT MAGICIAN (DAI MOR SHOOK SI), which had a lot to do with his admiration for Zhou Xun. Wai Jai said, "I never thought that later we would work together again, we really are connected."

Mak Siu Fai and Chong Man Keung in the past rarely made women films.  This time they chose Zhou Xun they absolutely would not let her be a flower vase.  "We have always wanted to find a chance to work with Zhou Xun.  We feel that she has a lot similarities to us.  Her thinking, her acting ideas, they all have a lot feeling.  Actually we can see He Bing and Zhang Xuening as two men, only with Zhou Xun we have a lot of feeling and emotions that we didn't have before."
