The Hong Kong and Malaysia co-produced 2027 Lunar New Year comedy film GOLDEN BLESSINGS (WONG GUM HEI S) held its first press conference in Malaysia the previous day. The film was directed by Hong Kong director Mak Ho Pong, and the screenwriter of the IP MAN film series Edmond Wong Chi Wun was the producer and screenwriter. The cast gathered actors from Hong Kong and Malaysia, including five Hong Kong television Best Actor, Best Actress and Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor, including Ruco Chan Chin Pang, Owen Cheung Chun Long, Benjamin Yuen Wai Ho, Mandy Wong Chi Man, Kent Cheng Juk Si, Ha Yu, Emily Kwan Bo Wai, Yanny Chan Yan Yin, Stephen Huyhn (Wong Cheung Hing) and Malaysian actors Cheng Kam Fat and Miko Wong Jie Kee. The film would feature a five-star hotel as the main stage of the story, integrating treasure hunting, love, family and comedy elements into one; a group of people with different backgrounds accidentally gathered together because of a mysterious treasure map, temporarily formed a "treasure hunting team" to sneak into the hotel to find the legendary treasure. In the process misunderstandings and conflicts occurred, a series of comedy ensued and each of their life stories were involved.
At the press conference, several leads took the suitcase to the stage to carry out the hotel "check-in", the host immediately presided over the on-site inspection of luggage. Some people took durian, some people brought toilet brushes. The funniest was that Wong Chi Man's suitcase actually had a whip. She immediately reprised a scene from the film - hitting a water bottle on top of someone's head with a whip. The entire venue cracked up. Playing the mob boss, Chan Chin Pang said that he was very happy to participate in the collaboration between the two places. He revealed that he and the online celebrity Chan Yan Yin would have a romance in order to add more attraction to the film. He also said that the production process was full of joy.
Cheung Chun Long played the role of young genius in the film. He joined the "Treasure Hunt Team" to embark on an adventure. He believed that in addition to bringing joy, the film also hoped that the audience would be inspired after watching and learn "gratitude". "What the characters really seek may not be just gold, but the relationship between people and what is worth cherishing in life." Yuen Wai Ho played a principled hotel manager, and a couple with Wong Chi Man. Regarding playing a couple again, Yuen Wai Ho said, "Although we were once the "best partners", but while working in Hong Kong we don't see each other often; so this time we are very happy to collaborate on a movie again." Wong Chi Man replied, "I have worked with Chin Pang on the drama SECRET DOOR. This would be the first time I work with Chun Long. With Ben there really have been numerous times. Although we haven't worked together for awhile, the feeling is still very familiar. As soon as we take our marks we click right away. However when I work with Ben earlier, he wasn't Papa yet. Now he is a father and we have witnessed each other's growth. I am very happy to be able to make a Lunar New Year film. What could be happier than being able to bring joy to the audience in the New Year?"
Wong Chi Man took advantage of the free time during the shoot to walk around and experience the traditions and customs of Malaysia. She had a more relaxed experience.
Cheng Juk Si and Kwan Bo Wai played a rich couple, the Malaysian goddess Miko Wong Jie Kee played their daughter. She worked hard on learning Cantonese for the role, and joked that finally it came in "handy". She was able to communicate directly with Hong Kong actors.
Ha Yu played the role of the elderly living alone and the owner of the hotel. He described Malaysia as a "second hometown". "The first time I went abroad was Malaysia. Back then I also came to make a film, and came back many years later for productions. It felt so familiar." Malaysia's famous actor and martial artist Cheng Kam Fat in the film played as a stuntman. Because he did not know Chinese, he did his homework in advance and found friends to practice the dialogues. He hoped that he would not slow everyone one.
