Martial art action star Gordon Liu (Lau Ka Fai) suffered a stroke three years ago. Due to hemiplegia on the left side of his body he needed full time care; earlier the 16 month long case against his former assistant Eva Fung Ying Wa to return 1.95 million was settled Thursday. The entire amount was returned to him. Originally he was very happy, but at night when he learned that his son Sin Chun Lung appeared in court with his former assistant he gorged himself on food, got sick and rushed to the emergency room in the middle of the night. The next day he was released.

Yesterday reporters contacted Lau Ka Fai's custodian Fan Yik Man for an understanding of his current condition. Fan Yik Man said that Lau Ka Fai after his stroke would become easily emotional. Sometimes he would decline to eat. Lately he would gorge himself as an emotional release. He practiced martial art, which he could no longer do. He also had no energy to scream as a release, all he could do was gorging himself. This was not the first time he was hospitalized for nausea. The doctor pointed out that it was not related to how much or little he ate. In the past he would be upset after seeing the lawyers and mentioned his family, then he would vomit; this time was particularly severe.

Fan Yik Man said that she kept the fact that she saw his son at court from him. At night he came in contact with other residents at the home. Someone comforted him to not be upset about his son and the entire matter was exposed. He vomited many times repeatedly and the caretaker arranged for an ambulance to take him to the hospital. She immediately came to visit him and after examination he was released the next day.

Fan Yik Man said that Vinz Sze Cho Nam and a French fan came to visit him at the nursing home and his mood improved. When he took photos with Sze Cho Nam he even wanted to choose a handsome one. She said, "I told Brother Ka Fai, I am a pretty girl. Every time I am called to the hospital in the middle of the night I would look bad. I hope him not want gorge himself, get sick and have to be hospitalized again. He heard and laughed."

Fan Yik Man said that as a custodian she has heard a lot of talk. Some said that before the stroke Lau Ka Fai treated his children poorly, for which she had to remedy that for him. She said that in Lau Ka Fai's wallet was a photo of his children. He was very generous with them while he was very thrifty with himself, he bought A grade replica and even his mobile phone was a counterfeit. Before the stroke he had contact with his daughter from his previous marriage and even drank with his son in law. After his stroke no one was willing to take on the responsibility. Without allowances, his family has all vanished. Until the news of his hospitalization was revealed, his niece finally called and questioned why her uncle was hospitalized? Fan Yik Man said that in the future she will have to arrange for Lau Ka Fai's medical treatment and life. She will ignore all the other talk.

Andy Lau Tak Wa since mid March worked on the film LOST AND LONELY (SUT GOO) in Quanzhou and began a search for his son in the Mainland. He played a farmer who began an over a decade long search for his son after a kidnapping. Wa Jai has shot in Quanzhou, Nanchang, and Wuhan. Earlier he arrived in Chongqing to start work. After over a month of crossing provinces across the continents. His look went from dirty initially to dark and thin in the middle of the production. On the streets of Nanchang law enforcement once drove him away.

Earlier, Wa Jai was even more convincing while working in Chongqing. He looked old and weathered. The ladies who looked on questioned if he really was Lau Tak Wa. However, fans were excited and felt that this film would bring Wa Jai another Best Actor award.

Wa Jai two days ago began work in a small Chongqing community. He wore a gray laborer jacket, even his facial hair was gradually graying. In the crew he kept to himself. Wa Jai was dark and thin, quite a different from his "Heavenly King" image. Some whispered, "He is completely different from on television, is he Lau Tak Wa?" In one scene Jing Boran gave Wa Jai a ride on his motorcycle with a banner that said "searching for son". When the neighbors were certain that he was Lau Tak Wa they said, "The star in real life isn't handsome, he looks dark and thin." Some even thought that Wa Jai had no star flavor.

Wa Jai was focused on work and ignored all the reviews from neighbors. However he still paid attention to his surroundings and he helped pedestrians. He won the praises of many. During the shoot the production team had road blocks. Wa Jai was waiting to take his mark when a motorcycle wanted to pass through. The crew was about to stop it when Wa Jai grabbed the worker for the motorcycle to pass. Someone took a photo, posted it online and praised Wa Jai, saying that details decided a person's achievement. Lau Tak Wa was not only a superstar but also a good role model. Some also said that real big shots do not act like big shots.

Wa Jai's farmer look received fan praises for how convincing it looked and he was the epitome of a real actor; some also noticed his arms to be too smooth for a real farmer. Even so, fans are already looking forward to watching LOST AND LONELY. Some even wanted to make Wa Jai the Best Actor!

Director Pang Ho Cheung lately has been promoting his film ABERDEEN (HEUNG GONG JAI). Two nights ago the film held an advanced screening. The director led Gigi Leung Wing Kei, Jacky Cai Jie and child actor Lee Man Kwai to a Tsim Sha Tsui cinema for an audience appreciation event. Gigi admitted that after years in the business she attended her first audience appreciation event and thought it was very fresh; she also pointed out that the audience now is very lucky, after the movie stars would appear. When she used to go to the movies no such program existed.

Two nights ago Pang Ho Cheung asked about the dialogue from Gigi's bathing scene, the male viewer got everything right unexpectedly because the viewer was the president of Gigi's fan club. Gigi said that two nights ago she went to four shows and would continue to promote in ten cities in the Mainland in the future. She has put the most effort into this promotion. On the May Day holiday she had to go to the movies for audience reaction so she had no time to be with her husband. Why not bring him along? Gigi joked, her husband has made more appearance later and was already very popular. She did not want her co-workers to have to take care of him too.

Gigi pointed out that she did not mind attending events as a couple. Her husband has only been in Hong Kong for two years and has learned one line of Cantonese from her mother and grandmother, "Thank you for your hard work". When he attended events and said that phrase, everyone would be very happy. Gigi said enviously, "It's really unfair, I am afraid that one day he would be more popular than me." Would she be her husband's manager? She admitted that some events would invite her husband to attend but he never thought about becoming an artist. In addition her husband would get off work around 6PM and would not be suitable to take other jobs. Gigi joked that if her husband was invited to attend events, the condition would have to be "with wife". Working as a couple would be decent, everyone would be happy together.

It was Cai Jie's first audience appreciation too. She said that she learned a lot from this chance to work on Director Pang's film. She saw that successful artists truly had to be multi-talented, she also hoped to have a chance to learn to write screenplays and direct. Speaking of her nude performance becoming the focus, Cai Jie said that it was inevitable. However she believed that viewers would filter through the director's family relationship production method. Lately she also had film offers, she would not have to be sexy but she had to fight.

[2014.05.01] MIRIAM YEUNG IS FORCED INTO ROMANCE WITH "YOUNGER MAN"

courtesy of on.cc

Pang Ho Cheung, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Gigi Leung Wing Kei earlier appeared on cable's Film Montage porogram to discuss their film ABERDEEN (HEUNG GONG JAI).

Gigi in the film played a couple with Louis Koo Tin Lok, she said that after getting married she understood the interaction between a couple behind closed doors. Thus during her performance she had no concern and believed that the director would display her best side. On the other hand, Pang Ho Cheung caught her off guard with his sudden behavior.

In one scene Gigi attended a tycoon's dinner party. The scene was already completed but Pang Ho Cheung never yelled cut. Pang Ho Cheung joked that this was his specialty. He said, "(Shawn) Yue Man Lok has worked with me all the time and knows about my habits. Maybe because it is your first collaboration with me so you don't know. When I see an actor getting into character, sometimes I would keep going." He pointed out that that scene wanted her to perform that exact off guard feeling.

Chin Wa pointed out that this was the third time that she worked with Pang Ho Cheung. They had even more chemistry. She continued, Pang Ho Cheung was biased and treated Leung Wing Kei better. Pang Ho Cheung explained that this was because Chin Wa's character was heavier. He did not want to disturb her when she cultivated her emotions. Instead Gigi's character was more relaxed and they could chat and laugh on the set.

Chin Wa also revealed that Pang Ho Cheung had a performance fetish, citing that he often told her that he wanted to play a couple with her. The background would be an older woman, young man romance, but Pang Ho Cheung was obviously older than her. Chin Wa said, "He is very ambitious, he wants to play award winning characters. Thus he says that he wants to play someone with mental deficiency. Then he keeps on playing the character for me all the time on the set." Pang Ho Cheung already signed with a film company to be an actor. He said that the main reason that he wanted to transition to be on camera because directing was too tiring. In the future he would drop his directing job and try to do something else.
